What I never understood was how the traveling clowns didn't stop at their own track but passed it to come to the Grove. Was it or is it a sign their shows not worth the time on their own track. H3ll if my show was the best I'd be taking that money in myself. This is the beginning of dispersement to make up for sponsor loss

Didn't WRG start selling off it's tracks well before STP dumped their sponsorship??
I have been going to Lernerville for 30+ years and IMO the new owners need to start at the top and bring in new staff with fresh ideas to get Lernerville back to one of the best fan and racer friendly tracks in the country. Also they need to dump the UMP sanction and the Hoosier only rule for all classes as it has kept many drivers from running there as they are in the middle of American Racer country. I know more than a few that use to run there that haven't since the mandate.

WRG started trying to sell properties a while back. This is taken from AARN from a few years ago:
"According to Brian Carter CEO of WRG, they are now confident in their direction and race track ownership is no longer in their future. They are trying to sell off Rollong Wheels and Cayuga County, they would still have deeds to Volusia County and Lernerville Speedway in Sarver.
WRG tried unsuccessfully to lease Volusia for 11 months of the year but keeping the profitable Feb Speedweeks dates. WRG is now happy to keep the facility closed all year but ready for their highly successful Feb promotions where there is racing every day.
Regarding Lenerville, Carter said the company would be interested in selling the property for the right price to the right buyer. He feels the weekly race track promotions work best when the owner is from the area around the speedway."
They've done a good job promoting races that they sanction and getting the series they promote back to a healthy level. They never could do that with their individuals tracks they own. Good to know Lernerville will be owned by someone with a racing background who can help it grow again.

Great , now lets get back to grass roots racing like when Don Martin had it , instead of all the stupid rules and feas that cost the local racers a pile of money.
