Doesn't add up.  Says he's tired of traveling.  Now two nights in Las Vegas.  That's 1750 miles from Grand Forks one way. Maybe a vacation for him and his wife.   He's put together a top notch new team with a well known crew chief.  Looks like he might be planning to get back on the road around the midwest again. The NSL and their point fund has to be on his mind.   I don't remember the letter that was on this site from Lunstra thanking Dobmeier and what it said but maybe Lunstra didn't think he was getting the bang for the buck he thought they should be getting for all the money he was putting into the sport and wanted a change and Kaeding can wheel her with the best but then can also wreck with the best.  Wouldn't be the first time something like this happened if indeed he was released and didn't release himself.  I'm probably way off base here but it won't be the first time.  Dobmeier is a great driver and did win a couple of WoO races but then Lunstra spent a ton of money on that car.

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

From Daves Facebook page.....

It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the conclusion of Dave Lunstra and Mark Dobmeier's racing partnership. Mark has decided to take a step back from our rigorous racing schedule and stick closer to home. This partnership was very successful and could never be duplicated. Together, we won countless races, 2 World of Outlaw wins, 5 Huset Speedway track championships, a Knoxville nationals preliminary night win & 3 Knoxville national A main starts. The bonds and relati...onships that were established during our eight year partnership are unbreakable. We want to thank our family, friend's, sponsor's and fans for your never ending love and support.

Dave & Jaime Lunstra   Lunstra Motorsports

From Marks.....It was a new beginning for Mark Dobmeier and the Jimco Motorsports #13 team.  The partnership came together in the offseason, and the first event for the Grand Forks, North Dakota driver came at The Dirt Track in Las Vegas, Nevada with the World of Outlaws last week.  Wanting to get things sorted out, the team accomplished their goal by gaining speed as the two-night event progressed.

seems strange they broke up and nobody seen it coming. both first class acts. wish them both well. prolly never know the hole story but lets move on. Mark has a new and well funded team and I would guess he calls all the shots. will be interesting to see Marks schedule and how much traveling he does. but on the other hand I'm excited to see TK weekly if it works out. what happens if Gravel gets canned and another big ride opens up?

One would think that Lunstra may have wanted to run the NSL schedule in addition to the normal Grand Forks, Knoxville, Husets trifecta that team made and Dobmeier may not have wanted to do that?

I don't think a singular trip to Las Vegas in March disproves anything that either side said.

i can see dobbmeier running grandforks and the nsl along with a few other hand picked shows but other than that not much more, which would make sense for the split

"I was surprised," Lunstra said. "I knew the threat was there, but I honestly didn't think [Mark] would walk and go to another shop where he would be starting over. But he chose the life of being in the shop again.

"None of that matters. He has another child and is in a position where if he wants to take off a weekend, he can. As long as he is happy, that's what counts. I'm disappointed but no matter the decision, when the dust settles we are still friends."

That should pretty much answer you question.  And as for getting the most bang for his buck mark was free he took no pay win or lose he races because he loves it.  All the details behind him leaving will be left up to specualtion because that is all between he and dave.

Also have we really herd from mark other than what dave has posted online?  Not really other than he is driving the Jimco motorsports 13.   Did he really take a step back to race closer to home?  No clue he hasn't said anything.  What are this years plans?  No clue he hasn't said anything.  And who is his well known crew chief?  You seem to me be confusing specualtion as fact!

I'm still trying to figure out who shot JFK and if UFO's really exist.  When I solve those conspiracy theories I'll shift my tin foil hat to the other side of my head and try to figure this deal out.  If I nail it I'll let everyone on HH's know.  wink

Time for a serious comment from Stan M.  I'm guessing that Husets could be the deciding factor.  The Sundays would have to be the most difficult for Mark as a business owner and the car owner was based in the Sioux Falls area.  If I was to speculate that would be my first guess.  That would make it a tough decision if the sticking point was racing every Sunday night for points.

Purely speculation here as well but I am guessing he still runs Husets (one of his best tracks). I think Lunstra was going to run the entire NSL series which includes some races as far as Missouri and Illinois. For Mark those are long hauls from North Dakota. Also the midweek shows for Mark are probably a no go with a business and a family. I think we will see him run nearly the same schedule he always has with his usual trio of tracks and some specials like Vegas in the spring and the World Finals in the fall. As for Lunstra I expect him and TK to try and make a serious run at the NSL points championship. I could be way out of line but it makes sense in my head! As I said purely speculation.

This has been my gut feeling since the split was announced.  I think Lunstra wanted to add more racing/traveling to the season and do the full NSL schedule, which may be evidenced by adding TK and announcing they will run the NSL. Mark was just unable to make that sort of commitment with all that he has going on with family and business, which would be totally understandable.  I don't think you are going to see much difference in Mark's racing schedule this season, maybe a couple less visits to Knoxville if anything.

Hey Stan, one of the Secret Service guys in the car following President Kennedy accidentally shot JFK (the Kill shot) immediately after they gassed it when Oswalds non lethal shot hit him.  He fell backwards in the car with his hand on the trigger and got off the ridiculous shot that killed him.  There is a great special that not many people have seen about this, explains why the Secret Service acted so strange, along with the Gov't after the killing, cover-up thing for their grievous error......

And it does add another car to the racing scene although, I think, it may be a reincarnation of a car (the 97 from N.D.) that left the scene for a year or so. But it's good to have another car out there running.

There you go bashing people for no reason and spreading lies. I was not in Dallas that day and did not shoot anyone.
