I'd suspect with the 2 day Silver Cup at Chico the 360 and econo wingless counts may not be as good as hoped for.  Also, while the LMs are great at Antioch, this morning they got postponed till next Saturday, 3/14, so the Limited Lates will take their place tomorrow night.  They're still entertaining but the short notice may affect their car count too.

I would not expect more than 12 to 15 cars in either sprint car class.

Chico had  35 360s, 34 mods and about 11 econo sprints last night and should be about the same tonight. Every fairgrounds track in CA has to run mufflers.  Antioch is usually a decent show so it comes down to a short or a long ride... and depends on where you're coming from.  If you come through the Delta you've got the toll bridge out of Antioch plus Highway 12, connecting 160 to I-5, is closed all weekend for road work. I'm heading for Chico which is an hour closer for methan Antioch.  Have fun.

the only wingwed 360's at antioch will be the ones who can't hit their ass against most other competition. anyone who is of decent caliber is at chico. there might be a couple of decent teams there who were not planning on going to chico but couldn't pass up the opportunity to take the money from the slugs at antioch.

antioch has a bad habit of scheduling against other shows.

so was it exciting watching 9 winged 360's that would have a hard time making it out of the B main at any other race?

Wow, is 9 what Antioch actually got?  Silver Dollar had 39 winged 360s, 21 non wing and 29 Modifieds. Pretty clean racing in the heats for all classes and the 360 C, then the 360 B and all the mains got crazy and tore up a lot of stuff.  Fans got their $ worth and the show finished right at curfew.

Yep as far as a facility Antioch is a piece of crap, always has been. The track itself isn't bad since they re-did it a few years back but the quality of cars they get at least for a weekly winged 360 event is junk. Especially when Antioch scedules against any other sprint car event that it can. I think it schedules against other events just so their local drivers never have much competition as most quality cars go to the other event.
