What is the difference between " start money " and " finishing position money "? Makes it sound like you get tow money if you're not running at the checker.

Tow money is just that, tow money. Say something breaks in hot laps and you are done for the night, you get tow money. Start money is last place money in the feature. Just like almost every track in the country does. This is why you see a few guys take the green in the A and pull in right away. That gets them start money which is more than tow money.

Payout page states you must take the checker to get finishing position money. Only five cars finish. You were sixth but weren't running at the checker. Do you get $100 start money or the $200 sixth finishing position money.

Since it says you must take the checkers to get finishing position money I would say if you finish 6th but are not running to take the checkers you would get the "to start" money. Sounds like a promoter that wants to brag about the purse but doesn't want to pay it out. If you take the green in the A you should get paid for where you finish. Never heard of a track paying all drivers that start the A but are not running at the end last place money.

If you have never heard of it that surprises me. A lot of tracks do it just some of them don't announce it. You find out when you collect at the end of the night which is wrong in my book. You should know what you are racing for before you ever take the track.
It actually very rarely even comes up when you have 15-25 cars per class and 10th on back pays about the same. Just a quick search on another track within 40 miles of Worthington and I found this direct quote.
"DNF = When a car is entered, and does not finish the main event you will get DNF pay, not pay for the position you are scored in"
oswald, in case you were not aware, this is a track that has been closed the past couple years with the exception of a fall race last year. With all the tracks closing left and right across the country I would think we would see possitive posts about us re-opening one.
Yes, we are going to brag about our purse because it is one of if not THE best in the area including a track points fund. Possitive comments will make this work and negative ones will lead to more and more tracks closing. We have a passion for dirt track racing and want to see it thrive. This is why we are taking on the risk of re-opening a track that has been idle for a couple years. Thank you and see you at the track!!
