Inside Line Promotions – FINDLAY, Ohio (Jan. 8, 2015) – The Renegade Sprints will usher in a new era in 2015.
The 410ci sprint car series, which was formed last summer to create value for sponsors and promoters along with offering an affordable form of high-quality entertainment for the fans, is scheduled to compete in at least 36 events at 15 race tracks in five states this season.
“We have a few dates that we are still working on, but the majority of our schedule is complete,” Renegade Sprints President Shane Helms said. “Everyone associated with the Renegade Sprints is extremely excited with the 2015 schedule that we put together for our first full season.”
The series will debut at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, on March 28 – the first of a series-high seven events at the high-banked track, including the $20,000-to-win Open Wheel Championships on May 2.
“The politics in Ohio has been very heated and we want to thank all the tracks for giving us a chance,” Helms said. “We believe it will be successful for all parties and will grow each year.”
Other tracks in Ohio that have currently booked at least one Renegade Sprints event include: Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg, Millstream Speedway in Findlay and Brushcreek Motorsports Park in Peebles.
The Renegade Sprints will also make at least seven trips into Pennsylvania for events at Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Path Valley Speedway Park in Spring Run, Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Big Diamond Speedway in Pottsville and Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville.
Additionally, the series will compete in Indiana at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown; in Michigan at Hartford Speedway in Hartford; and in Illinois at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville for a non-points event with the National Sprint League, Midwest Open Wheel Association and IRA Outlaw Sprint Series.
“We are working closely with the NSL to make something big happen on top of that date at Jacksonville,” Helms said.
Of the handful of dates to be determined, most are during the Renegade Week of Speed from June 18-24, when events at Attica Raceway Park, Wayne County Speedway and Atomic Speedway are scheduled.
“We’re waiting on a few tracks to come on board during that time,” Helms said. “I hope we can add a couple more new tracks, but if that doesn’t happen most of those dates will be picked up by tracks already on the schedule.”
In other news, Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pa., has committed to at least one date in 2015 and is working on a possible Western Pennsylvania Speedweek.
Additional details about new dates will be posted once they are finalized.

I have a quick question.  When you hire a promotion company, such as Inside Line Promotions in this case, don't you pay them to promote yourself?  Why is it that at the end of every thing these guys release they have to plug themselves or in the case of twitter hashtag themselves?  Maybe I am totally missing something in the business world, but if I pay for someone to promote me or my team that is what I would expect them to do.  It seems like these guys spend as much time promoting themselves in every press release they write as the people they are representing so basically those that are paying to be represented are also funding the advertising for Inside Lines.  Can someone with the proper knowledge of how this all works help me understand it better?  Maybe I have the wrong conception of how this all works but it just gives me a bad vibe personally.  Thanks in advance and not trying to ruffle anyone's feathers.

I want to chime in with our situation at Jacksonville Speedway.  As you know by now, we canceled our All Star sanction after the recent comments. In doing so, some teams who were aligned with the Renegades incidcated that they would be coming to supprot our show... which is their choice.  I see our race made the Renegade schedule as a non-points race.

I just want to be clear, that we as a track are not placing ourselves in the middle of this Ohio Civil war.  Any driver is welcome to attend our event on May 15 - regardless of affiliation.. and that includes any driver who races for points in either the All Star or Renegade series.  Hopefully by May 15th the sprint car world is again at peace and everyone can enjoy a great night of racing in the MIdwest.

Thought the same thing. Just from my home in Dayton Ohio to Bedford is a good 6 hours. Add another 3 or 4 from Indiana. ..overnight...

Gotta say I've never met you or been to your track, but I'll say it sounds like you a great promotor and really care about the fans. I too hope peace prevails soon, and I wish for you, your racers, and your fans a great 2015 season. Its hard for me to travel like I used to but your track is on my to-see list!

I'm no defender of Webb, but when he pulls stuff like this, he's raked over the coals for making his teams travel like crazy. It'll be interesting once the thrill of sticking it to webb is over, how many teams end up following this deal.

Will also be interesting who ends up running ohio speedweek.

Sunday, June 14th will be an interesting date to watch out for. The All-Stars will have just wrapped up their 2nd Central PA tour and the Renegades are coming in that night to Big Diamond, but the PA locals have their own Sunday special show at Susky that night which in years past as drawn Western PA drivers like Tim Shaffer and Danny Holtgraver while they were under the All-Star banner. I think this will lead to low car counts at both tracks that night which turns into a lose-lose situation.

Yes, It looks like long hauls between a couple of races.....I am sure the teams gave this the go-ahead before scheduling these shows so far away from each other. This new group probably wanted to try and accomodate as many tracks as possible for their initial schedule. At least there are no 12-14 hour trips out west, right?

As for the Illinois race, I think it was a nice gesture that the Renegades are wanting to support that track....I don't think it is an attempt to draw them into the middle of this fued.

The speedweek schedule.....now that is going to be interesting. With a few tracks removing the All Star race from their schedule that week,  the Renegades stepped in to give them a race on those dates.....and now you have a mess. But who's fault is that?

Obviously, all of this is not ideal. Some people, tracks, teams, organizations will get hurt. Knowing that, Is it better to just stand pat and endure something that was obviously not going to work anymore....or to try and make it better in spite of the opposition, criticism and negative perception that comes with trying to make a change?

There are some tracks on this schedule that are often skipped over by other series, so that is good to see them included. There are more races in Ohio, and that is good for me. And Tony Stewart Racing tweeted recently that Steve Kinser would probably be running some WOO, NSL, Renegade and MOWA races...so that must mean something?

In any case, I am not going to be too critical of the new series just yet. But I am very disappointed this has come to this, like all of the people who post here. I am hoping for a swift, decisive victory and soon, for one side or the other so things get back to normal with a minimum of collateral damage.

susky will get 26 - 28 cars like it always does...and the racing will be excellent

big dust will play host to the first time in sprint history for a touringh series based out of Ohio to win on Posse Soil as they race against underfunded teams who normally ran a handful of race a year.

as you can see...as long as the fans attending EITHER track bring their own food - it is a win / win situation

Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

Oh, I know I'll be at Susky (if anything because of proximity) but I wouldn't be surprised if the 27, 19m, 48 etc. go where the money (presuming they are paying the $5,000 to win) is at Big D.

Also, if all those Renegade drivers haul east to Posse land for their Sunday race - assuming that Friday and Saturday remain All-Star sanctioned - will the Renegade drivers just sit on their thumbs and watch from the stands those nights? Saturday the teams are given options as in Lincoln/Port Royal will race unsanctioned races while the ASCoC is in town.

Or will those teams just stay in their backyard until they have to come east for their Sunday race?

Lots of assumptions, lots of drivers in one area, lots of tracks with their lights on, it certainly will be interesting. Hell knowing our luck, the whole weekend will be taken from us by Mother Nature.

Unless Susky plans on increasing the purse, I would bet that most of the heavy hitters will go where the money is; 27 and 1z for sure, 12 probably.  I highly doubt either track will have a full field. Maybe some of the lesser funded teams come out knowing there will be short fields. If history is any indicator, you'll need goggles, hat and a dust mask to survive a night at either facility. LOL Really dumb to have 2 410 races scheduled against each other on a Sunday night. Hopefully 1 of the tracks will reschedule to an open Sunday date. Susky should schedule a Renegade race, that would be a good show for them. I'd also like to see the Grove, Susky and Port make the switch and get on the same page so the renegades can race 2-3 nights when they tow in. Attica saw the light. I don't know what the central PA 410 tracks are waiting for. It's obvious a sanction cannot exist with no cars. Central PA fans have never really embraced the all-stars anyhow.

Attention Port Royal Speedway: Sept. 11 and 12 TBD. The all-stars brought what 2-3 cars to the 50 last year? Get your heads out of Webb's ass and snag this date while it's still available!

Yeah I agree but it's the 1st year of the series so they have to give into the tracks wishes for dates I suppose. Once they are established and the all-stars likely done, hopefully they'll come up with a schedule with better travel sensibility and more tracks added.
