Should be a great 5 day event .The only question I have is whether the break between dates was necessary ? Wouldn't it made more sense to have a 4 day event all in a row ,as it would have made it easier on fans that have to travel great distances or time off requests . I understand they did it this way for track prep reasons ,but they still have 20 different states requesting tickets including Hawaii . Hope everyone has a great time and sees great racing .

How about you let them run the event for the first time and see how it works out. Nah, why would we want to do that, lets start analyzing and criticizing the event before it has even happened because we have a better way to do it. Maybe it has to do with track staff only really being available on the weekends, maybe they figured they would get more local support on Friday's and Saturday's and figured that weekday shows would be financial losers. Why would we ask them what their reasoning is when we as fans from miles away know so much better than they do how they should run their event?
Maybe after its over we can talk about the fact that they didn't do enough in between the races to entertain the fans. You know what, you should send them letters and emails and see how long it is before they stop responding.

BTW, you asked the same question in another Cocopah thread and no one answered because maybe its not a big deal to them. Take the hint at let it go.

And emailed the promoter and received numerous responses. Maybe you should take the advice of the well thought out poster above.

I wish I could buy your ideas for what they're worth and sell them for what you think they're worth. I'd be set for life. Seriously, do you have to find fault with everything? News flash dude: nothing is perfect. Everything in the world has flaws. No matter how good it is, if you look hard enough, you'll find it and any imperfection you fix usually causes another imperfection somewhere else. I've never been to Cocopah Speedway and all I've seen of it is what has aired on MAVTV but don't you think that the people who planned this huge event didn't sit down and take all the variables into account as far as what works best for all involved (not just the fans) before they scheduled dates, start times, prices, purse etc.? They know the situation far better than you and besides, unless you're actually going and taking your imaginary fan club with you, why do you give a shit?

Wouldn't it make more sense for you to lease a racetrack and show everyone how to run a fan/driver friendly track with great racing including real passing instead of slide jobs instead of just posting about it on a message board? Wouldn't it make a bigger impression on tracks and sanctions to see your ideas in action rather than just reading them here or in an e mail?

Lets not crucify this guy. I was wondering the same thing & I plan on going.
But it seems pretty clear track wants to give teams something to make the 2 weekend stay worthwhile financially. As a fan, I just can't see staying there all week for one extra race

i think the race schedule is great, gives the race teams some time to work on the cars, and fans and teams some time off to place some winter time golf. I only thing i don't like about the whole thing is that i'm able to go.

I also do not understand why the break in action. I am unsure why the promoters opted to have the race in Yuma, a place far away from everything. Why not conduct the Winter Heat event in Knoxville, IA or Williams Grove; true hot beds of racing.
Oh, I am thinking about changing my moniker to "Sardonic Sarcasm"

Just for starters; maybe because the weather is nice there in January? .... http://www.cocopahspeedway.com/2014/12/steve-kinser-kicking-off-2015-at-winter-heat-sprint-car-showdown/

You people are realing getting critical , I was posing a question , plus I was quoting what there reply was to an e-mail I sent them which did state what I said in this post . They are scheduling this race due to track prep and do have alot of ticket requests as I stated .

So they responded with their reasons, and still you come on a message board to pose the question for the second time. Why not accept their reasons and assume that they probably know their racetrack much better than we do? BTW, Yuma only gets 3-4 inches of rain per year, so I bet they can't just dump water on it multiple nights in a row, but that is only speculation on my part.
With the teams they have pre-entered it doesn't seem like they are too worried about the break During the week. I would rather they be good races than ones that are the most "convenient" for out of staters. If it's too long to stay, go for one weekend, not both. That is what I'm doing, and I'm taking the extra day or two to see some family on the west coast.

Actualy you are the one getting real critical. Saying it would more sense to run this event differently before it has even been run! Why not wait till it happens then offer suggestions on how it may have been made better?

The slick 50 series ...which was very popular lasted multiple weekends with no midweek shows. We have a good plan and a good team. Come enjoy some January sprint car racing. Let's support it so it gets a chance at a 2nd year and if it needs adjustment it will get it.
