The Cejay Stadium racetrack was located in Wichita, Kansas from 1945 until 1957 and a section of crash wall is all that remains of it today. On one side of the wall is a baseball field. Players and spectators have sat on the old crash wall to watch baseball games for years without having any idea the history of what they were sitting on.

With permission of the property owner, there is now a fund to place a granite monument on the wall telling of its significance. The size and content of the monument will depend on how much can be raised in the next few months. Anyone wishing to donate to the “Cejay Stadium Monument Fund” can do so through any Bank of America location. Make check payable to the "Cejay Stadum Monument Fund."  The account number is 5180 0552 1047. Anyone with questions can contact me.

Donations for the Cejay Stadium Monument Fund will be excepted through May 20, 2015.  After that date, the bank account will be closed and the monument ordered based on the funds that we have collected through May 20th.

There has been a fund raising effort going on for the past year to have a plaque placed on the old section of crash wall that still stands at the former site of Cejay Stadium here in Wichita.  The funding has been secured and we now have a confirmed date when the unveiling of that plaque will be.  Anyone who might be interested is invited to the unveiling of the new plaque at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the crash wall site behind the baseball field backstop at the Cessna Employees Activity Center, 2744 George Washington Blvd., Wichita, KS.
