not a very exciting race again , same winner !! maybe track will go back to shorter distance , with no tire change , and maybe a bigger fuel cell . This distance once again is great for a driver who has best crew chief in sprint car racing . A nonstop race would be nice ? but then this is WoO RACING , WINNER OFF FRONT ROW . But regardless every fan should take in Knoxville its an event besides racing .

8 out of 9 years are you kidding me? That was a great bunch of drivers/teams this year trying to beat him that started up front and nobody could touch him. So sorry to hear all the classless boos during introductions ... used to do it to Steve too.

If it would have been a shorter race Schatz would have checked out and won by over 4 seconds. If i do recall the second 25 laps was better racing then the first 25. I'm tired of hearing all the whiners wanting a shorter race because Schatz is too good to beat. Give it up people Brian Brown is always gonna be a bridesmaid.

I'm a Brown fan and walked away from tonight feeling crushed it didnt happen again tonight. BUT, you have to give Donny a tip of the hat, he's the man there right now, winning year after year with all kinds of different track conditions. Brian will get one, and it'll mean that much more when he does. Congrats to Donny and his fans.

Thanks to Brown for making it interesting. I was amazed when he passed Donnie & amazed when Donnie passed him back. What a driver. In boxing thats called a counter puncher.
Congratulations, Schatz & team

No one is whining , it would be a better race if it were shorter win or lose , no tires , tires make a difference on the second 25 lap segment . While Donny Schatz is a good driver , he has the best car and crew chief , but Brian Brown is a great driver in his right , and will win soon . Right now Ricky Warner has the set -up for Knoxville over the other guys . He might have checked out but he would have to run even harder , if pressure was kept on ,which could make it interesting . It won't happen but a larger fuel cell and no stops would make the ideal race .

People said the "bridesmaid" line about Schatz back before he won it the first time also as he was turned away several times by Lasoski and the Kinsers.
Brown will get it done one of these years, seems like the first one is always the hardest for a guy to win then they can finally relax.

My last memory of the A Main broadcast on the Cushion was driver introductions. I woke up in the recliner at 4:30 am to a blank screen. Do they replay the broadcast?

Stan, I mcertainly hope so, they have a pretty large archive of past events available for viewing. it states on their website that if you paid for the live PPV of that particular event, you can watch the archived version, but it isn't up yet.

i'm not starting a conspiracy theory, but when and why did schatz switch bodies? i thought he was running the sweet 60th anniversary chrome car for the entire nationals? noticed it was his regular ride in victory lane

This thread is absolutely hilarious. Schatz was all but unbeatable in this era of the Nationals over the 30-lap distance, and the race distance was increased. He is still all but unbeatable even though the race is now 50 laps, so the race should be made shorter again? LOL.
instead of making the race shorter or longer, seems like the only answer is to start Schatz a lap behind the field -- and some of you guys would still find an excuse for why he won.

Not sure which race it was in but the wrap on the wing was pretty well gone by the end of the race. My guess is they did not have another matching wing, hence the change.

I wondered the same thing myself. You absolutely can not switch cars, right? Just the body? why switch the body?

Brown & Schatz have a great rivalry going at Nationals. If he ever decided to go on Outlaws tour, it could be the next Kinser/Swindell thing....

I thought it was a great race. I saw the fans on their feet several times during the A. Don't see that at a boring race.
Some posters complain about the winner coming from the front row and a while back a bunch were saying the races would be better if they always started the fastest cars up front!
Simple, if you do not like a 50 lap A main with a fuel stop do not go to a race that you know is going to be 50 laps with a fuel stop and then bitch about it!!!!!!!!!

On his qualifying night the Knoxville paint scheme started to peel so I'm sure the crew didn't want to take the chance of it happening again and possibly getting the caution flag thrown.
