ASCS Front Row Challenge on Monday at Oskaloosa. I'm not sure there is anything on Tuesday since the USAC race at Osky was cancelled . I'll be there sometime over the weekend.

Staying in Newton you're fairly close to mulitple things in the Des Moines area.
Jordan Creek Mall, Bass Pro, And the popular Iowa State Fair, which I believe is the 2nd largest state fair in the US.
If you're wanting more small town entertainment there's Pella, or even some more racing at English Creek. They're racing on Monday and Tuesday night. I'd expect a slight bump in attendeance at EC this year on Tuesday.
Don't forget the 360 nationals the week before on Thurs, Fri and Saturday, and the Capatani classic on Sunday. The Sunday night show is probably the best deal of the week. For $20 you get to see the top notch drivers prepare for the 410 Nats. Last year more than 80 cars showed up on Sunday.

Casino right on 80 in Altoona--about 20-30 minutes West of Newton also. If you are into giving your money back to the state that is. Unfortunately, when i go to K-ville, I usually make a donation there.

If you like late models, West Liberty, IA is 2 hours east. English Creek is a great little joint.

On Tuesday of that week, West Liberty, IA is having a $10,000 to win late model special.

West Liberty is certainly a unique half mile. It looks like an oval from the air but drives like a big D....with a couple of big old oak trees inside turn 1 & 2 for good measure.
It's open late models (in what is getting to be a rare appearance in Iowa) and not the IMCA spec variety. The race is timed to catch a lot of the open motor drivers travelling through in between WoO LM shows so car count will be decent.
