Yes , it is time area promoters to present a $50,000 to win race for area drivers excluding the great WoO , by special qualifying races , area points , special invitation or other ways . Why should we allow the hard working crews , drivers, and car owners not to have a chance at bigger money to help there teams , owners and all concerned who put on the races weekly for our very devoted fans . I realize I will criticized for this but I am looking out for our owners , drivers and teams who work long and hard all season long . It's been done before and it can be done again . To protect our product in Pa land we need creativity , passion , hard work , and more good close racing .

I'd love to see the Tuscarora 50 pay more. A race of that length, history and stature should pay more than 11G plus lap money. 50G may be unrealistic but I think 20G might be do-able.

Before we go doing anything stupid, how about raising the weekly GA ticket one dollar and raising the purse to 4k to win...
Opinions may vary...

The Dream was $30000 in the beginning but lack of sponsors stopped that also

And after the crowd at the Grove last night I truly doubt anyone will step out and take that chance

Seriously... I think we can handle $15-16 admission prices for $4000 standard purses. Lets work on that extra dollar first. As for the original OP, if you have $75k to put up for a $50k to win race, I'm sure you could find a track that will listen.

Agreeing. I didn't get sarcastic until later in the message. I'd pay $20 to watch a normal show if they put it in the purse. The product would get better.

I'm surprised you agree...Most people here think I'm an idiot... :/
Now's not the time for a drastic change to our region therefore, I'm of the opinion, a minor change done weekly could be a step in the right direction...

I am not surprised at the Grove's attendance being down , track condition is lousy , food is bad , and the management is rude to fans , even drivers are not happy with what goes on at the Grove . But I know sponsors , purse , cars and crowd would come for a local , regional cars to run for a big purse to exclude the WoO drivers , so our local guys could make some money

I appologize in advance for bringing facts to this discussion but, Isn't the Kasey Kahne race at Lincoln scheduled against an Outlaw race and, correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't that affair pay 20K to win...?... :/

60% chance of rain will always cause a light crowd. The track is usually very good at the Grove. That track never holds up well for TT's though. From what I've seen the weekly attendance for regular shows is down at all the local tracks the last few years, there's just too much competition for the entertainment dollar these days. It's not like the days of old when going to the races was the thing to do every weekend. If it looks like rain people make other plans now. It's gotta be harder than ever to make money running a track these days. Special events still seem to attract the fans though.
Been to the Grove twice and once the crowd was average and the other time it was very light. Port also twice, once for a regular show and it was a ghost town and for the Weikert memorial which was PACKED.

The Dream race at Port first paid $30,000 to win and a total one day purse of $80,000 with hopes of going to $100,000 but it was lack of support by fans and race teams more than sponcers that lead to it being downgraded rather than upgraded. Everyone always says they will come but when it came time to put up or shutup many chose a 358 race at Lincoln or staying home instead.

I hope PA can get a major paying event but I know out here in Cali big purses dosent mean a thing for car count. Just look at Skagit and Dirt Cup, 25k and 40 k and get 30 cars maybe. Ive been in this game for years and am convnced $$$ dosent help car count. I believe that due to top heavy pay out and no pay down, but if tracks would pay as Trophy Cup does it would help racing all the way around. Pay down pay down pay down.
