Look, I'm biased, but for a state of just 3.5m people, Oklahoma has turned out some very good drivers through the years. Just recently (and for a while with some of these guys), we've seen good things out of Pittman, Bell, Stewart and Bacon. I tip my cap to Cali, Indiana, Ohio, Pa., and the other states that churn out good shoes, but this little spot has had more than its fair share contribute to the sport. What a shame that there are no longer tracks at places like Oklahoma City and Tulsa, which were once breeding grounds for a lot of the great talent in this state.

Being from Memphis originally, I understand the pride that comes from having racers excel who are from your home state. You're right, OK has put out some great ones. I can't believe someone hasn't put another sprint car track somewhere in the OKC area. Hopefully someone will eventually.

I'll second you on Pittman and Bell, but not Gould. IMCA "national" champions are hardly national champions in the same way that WoO champions are. You can win an IMCA national title and never leave your back yard or have to compete head to head against the other dudes who are competing for the title. Not taking anything away from Gould, who is an excellent shoe. However, I don't consider his accomplishments on par with what Pittman and Bell have accomplished.

Yo' Kenny, very surprised to see none of your Sooners go in the first round last night, that doesn't happen very often, does it? Good luck this year, you gonna be a Top Ten 10 team again?

You are right, I think its because of the good quality divisions for the kids to start in there.

Hey Mike, no that's pretty rare. We had one who probably would have been there, but he blew out a knee in one of the post-season all-star games.
