Actually, it's HadAn; but who's counting? Smile

I had lunch with Roger today and he mentioned how he was looking forward to this meeting.

I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

Looking forward to hear how this meeting works out, hope someone from Knoxville shows up with a open mind, actually hope everyone that shows up has up is open minded enough to figure out how to make the 305's good for everyone not just their own little corner of the sport.

if some of these 305 guys get off their lazy butts, and go ask some questions ,they may even help build this division of racing ,instead of tearing it down .come on guys man up and be there.

I know if I was a owner or driver I'd be there, I'd like to br able to race as many different tracks as possible.

I live in Des Moines and been going to Knoxville since the first Nationals, seen a lot of stuff come and go, seen car counts go up and go down. Everyone needs to get on the same page with this and try to make it a success.

Racesaver needs to lose their resealing rule. If a racesaver car races with a different sanction, they have to reinspect and reseal the engine before they can run a racesaver event. If the engine stays sealed, whats the problem? Would someone explain that one to me. Sounds to me like Racesaver wants to keep their cars from running non racesaver events.

great reply..just the question that needs to be addressed at the meeting..be there and ask your questions...but the one great thing that the racesaver has going for it is ..the sealing..and it sure makes for great racing.

Pretty amazing to see Brady Bacon, Jason Johnson, Johnny Herrera, and Jeff Swindell all racing the lowly Racesaver type 305's (actually ASCS, but rules w/ racesaver heads) last weekend in Texas and New Mexico.  Last years Racesaver Supermationals winner Kyle McCutcheon finished 7th.  Should be an interesting meeting.......hope things turn out well.

You pay those guys enough money and they would race scooters, it has little to do with the 305. If that were not the case you would not have the big names at any of the large payday 360 races either.

I would like to see a claim rule take place make it a logical amount around $10-$12 grand. Then if you show up with your $18-$22 grand motor then you could very well loose it. Then you have the guys that build a good affordable motor for $7-$8 that will sell in a heatbeat build another and be happy about it. Just my thoughts. And yes drop the reseal deal.

Agreed. I would like to see someone come up with a formula that puts butts in the stands again so that promoters could put a little more money into the program across the board and still be able to pay their expenses. THAT helps the teams that support the tracks. It would also go a long way toward their not having to have special high paying races to bring people in.  Then maybe we could have some races where we aren't sitting through 4 stock car classes so that we can race. Hell at our local midget track we get to see 4 support divisions of children racing in order to help support the midget series. Short track racing is in real trouble generally speaking.  This all really is a double edge sword and one thing does directly effect the other. The big races seem to be the only thing that packs the house out this way any more, which I believe has a lot to do with why they have them. Unfortunately they attract big names that come in to claim the money that otherwise should be there to support the local teams. AND here we go again................................................................

Why?  A race is a race!  Some of the drivers mentioned do this for a living, if they make a couple dollars, they're going to!  If anything it should help "the little guy".  You're only ever going to be as good as your competition!

305 s are about the little guy and newcomers..so why steal the few dollars that help them stay in racing?

First off I agree with sprintfn1 - leave the 305's to the little guy and newcomers.

Hope someone posts something about how the meeting went - would really like to know what promoters/tracks were represented.
