This is wait needs to happen to get more butts back into the grandstans next year. ,,,,, For the pass two years its been all take , take , take. ,,,,,,,, Well its time to give some back to the fans that invest there money that supports , perris auto speedway. ,,,, [ A PARKING PASS ]  Along with your Season Pass.  and do this with out a incress in the season pass package !!!!! ,,,,, $8.00 is a rip off.  for parking ,,,, This is one third of the cost to get into the show. BULLSHIT. !!!!!!!!!    On COLD nights ,,,,, The track needs  to speed up the use of there time. ,,,, When I come to perris. ,,,, Iam there to see a SPRINT car show.  { THIS IS WHAT I PAY MY MONEY FOR ]. ,,,,I understand that you have got to run the lighting sprints for the back gate money. ,,,, You run the 410 show,,,,,,,,, the old timers,,,,,,,, young guns,,,,,,, Another words the sprint car show first. ,,,,, Than at the end of the the sprint car show. ,,,, Than let the lighting sprints { flash lights } run there shows. ,,, on a cold night I would rather leave around 9.00 and be on my way home. ,,,, who ever wants to stay and watch the  lightings can stay and frezzzzzz  there ASS off.  !!!!!!!!! . As I understand it, Don has no control on parking price, security, and food. That is the fair board. Also consider that the teams need to have time to service and prep cars between races. If you go down to the pits you can hear them on the pa sytem hurrying us up all the time. I don't believe that they make the show drag out just because they can. Sorry that you have to wait long, but partially due to the current economy, as an owner I can not afford to bring more than two crew members so it just takes longer to get ready.

I guess i am not talking just about Perris but all tracks we go to. They all are suffering now and I agree that some of the shows do need to be tightened up some. I am just saying we need to look at the whole picture. Look at the age of the general fan base. For the most part it is getting older, kids in the 12 to 20 age group are not really intrested in cars like we were and that shows with the number of them that show up to the track. The ones that are there are for the most part connected to a racer or team that is there. We have to do something as a group (Teams, Officials, Promoters,Die hard fans) to attracked the youger groups.

One thing that I noticed, I did not here ANY advertisements leading up to the event. Maybe there was some but I didnt hear them. USAC should help with this i believe. They should have put out radio spots talking about the stellar field of drivers, many NASCAR bound. Build some excitement around the sport we love.

Like I said before, you are correct the show could be tightened up. But Perris is not the only track with attendance issues. Every track we raced at this year has had this problem. Just changing the format and tighteng up the schedule will not do it alone. Somehow we need to get younger fans intrested, which is gonna be tough. Its a whole culteral shift.

like I said your not going to keep new fans with ungodly amounts of down time you may get them through the gate once but then you've lost them forever.

there may have been down time during the tngp , im sure the powers at hand did not do this just for good measure . what i do suggest is call the # 951-940-0134 . that is the # for the pas . they dont always answer , but you can be persistant , and get thru to them . or you can keep being like the majority of the people in this world and just do nothing more than talk . there are 2 general types of people , the ones that do get things done , and the ones that sit around , talk , chat , bitch , complain , and not much more ! in the recent past any promoter i have wnated to convey any idea to was open to conversation with me . its actually that easy . using this board to get things changed  will not work . if you are really serious and believe you can make a difference , you can ,  go into action and quit talking about it !!!

I do not know why you would think you are any more important than any of the CLS fans. You do not think they get cold too? It is ok they should remove them entirely or just run them the next day so you do not have to see them.

Okay enough of your whining. Yes it is cold, yes the show at times runs long, but your attitude is probably more the reason people are not wanting to come back. If I sat with you and listened to your constant bitching I wouldn't want to come back either. If you don't have any positive ways in which to help the promoters with their business, either start your own track and see how easy it is to run as it seems you feel this way. I will continue to support the PAS as well as many others I know, I can put up with long shows as I am able to visity with many friends I have made over the years. Maybe if you would stop being so negative people might find it easier to talk to you and the time would pass much faster. If it takes 20 minutes or an hour I don't care I enjoy having a track to go to. And I am pretty damn sure that the PAS has in the past and will always do what they can for the fan.

I agree way to long and the prices are out of control how about a few fan appreciation nites no parking fee and $15 admission seems were paying a lot more for less the last 5 or 10 years and now the outlaws with usac wonder how much that will be and if I buy a season pass if I will be able to use a ticket come pass help the loyal fans out lower some prices so we can bring some family and friends to fill those seats

Ken you're 100 % correct, we should stop whining about PAS.  For me I quit about a year ago, instead I go to Tulare which has FREE Parking, and for a combined KWS (winged 410) and USAC 360 Non-wing the ticket is $18, beer and food cheaper, easier drive for me.  I got tired of myself complaining about the PAS, nothing has changed too much from the beginning concerning high ticket prices, concessions, and parking.  Only gotten worse, and after the split with SCRA car counts have never recovered.  Still have tried to support PAS, but to be honest 3 out the last 4 oval national races have been snoozers.  It just seems other promoters do not take my business for granted.

Here's  my format changes, if less than 24 cars, skip qualifying and run 3 heat races, followed by 2 qualifying (or whatever you want to call them races to set the grid) other wise have qualifying with 4 heat races, and a semi.

 I'd drop the young guns, A. Youngster should not race sprint cars (they can run lightning sprints, etc)  If they are good enought to race a sprint car, race with the men.

make the schedule so there is time to announce the starting drivers in the sprint car main event on the front stretch (line them up during 15 minute intermissiion), and have the sprint car main event push off before 9:30.

Run some of the support races before the 7:00 Pm as preliminary events.  At 7, run the sprint car heats.

Any of this gonna happen, probably not.  Until there are changes on race formats for low car counts, price adjustment for parking, tickets (especially with low car counts), concessions, length of the event, I will probably attend other tracks that do a better job, namely Tulare, Santa Maria, Oildale, hanford, and even Ventura.  $25 and $8 parking for a normal night of sprint car racing drawn out over the evening is not something I am looking for.  For those that do, enjoy.

The first meetings @ The Lake Perris Fairgrounds ( now SoCal Fair ) to repalce the Speedway Track with a Auto Racing Track took place 93/94 between Myself , My Dad & Fairgronds Mgr Lyndall Graff & IIRC somewhere around here I may have the Org RFP & Plans dated 3-10-94 & I do not remember anyone else involved or knew about it until after it was passed by the Fair Board in 94

Off the top of my head IIRC  this was the main part of the lease agreement

starting in 95 it was a 25 year lease , Fair Grounds got 10% of the front gate , 20% beer sales , 15% food sales , 10% sovineers , with a 5% discount for the first five years to pay for capital improvements

Promoter/Leasee got , 90% front gate, 80% beer sales , 85% food sales , 90% sovineers , 100% backe gate , 100% billboard Corp/Biz suite & ticket sales , 100 % commercail shoots etc.

No charge for practice nights, driving schools etc.

1,500 Free parking spaces min to be provided per event

I image things could have changed or been renegotiated etc , & contracts between the leasee & their sub contractors would not in most cases be public knowledge , but the above if my memory is correct is what the deal for operating a race track @ The Fair Grounds starting in 95

You have every right to complain Mr. Jensen, we get your point either do something constructive about it or move on. You are correct you have options in making your choices as to how you are going to spend your money do so. You have made your point, I hope you get your wishes granted but if not, as you have said you have other options that. I don't have a problem with anyone coming on the board and making their suggestions and if they think it is right trying to make the racing better. I am just asking that you make your point and move on.
