Do I think it was right for #2B to tear him down on his first night out, NO! because it was the same thing that happen to Josh last year, but if #37 had the right setup, why not want to show it off. Would it not have been better to get tore down, and found ok'ed and get the win, than to say NO, and take the DQ. To me that make me wonder if he was in the right in the first place. If I have nothing to hide, why hide at all. If it was me and it was my first night out, and I took the track and won, and one of the top drivers for the local track wanted to see what I had I would say ok. Let's look ! ! ! Then when it comes back that I was in the right, I look like the bigger man, and then that gives the person I beat a better reason to look at their own setup, and see if there is anything they can do. If I knew I was right on my setup I would not take a DQ because I felt like I was being wronged.
Remember I am just a fan, that like OSP, and some of you drivers are making that hard for us as fans.

37d was not illegal. 2B protested the bore and stroke, that is what was written on the paper the official had. However when 37d counter protested the 2B, they wanted to see OUR piston and rod. We will not tear down a brand new motor for $200.00. Anytime you tear one down you take a chance of not getting the motor back the way it was and possibly blowing on your next night out. At out track we can not run after market crank or rods. No porting, polishing, or matching of any kind. We were running for championship at our track, but had to many motor problems. And now we just go from track to track to have fun.

I have to agree with Joe on this one, if you are not running for points, then why tear your motor down? Plus one thing being on the paper & wanting to check something else is not right! Bore & stroke is alot less costly to check than pulling a rod & piston.

If you are referring to me in the ya'll category, since my car is for sale & it is now back to a F/S. I'm not running for points, I'd have to refuse a teardown also! Especially if it was something else other than what they had wrote down!
OKC, I will make an appearance at SFS fri. night!!!!!!!!!

lol. naw flash I was askin Dusty. I think they're runnin for points at OKC.
an appearance friday night?!?!?! Man Flash you really pick the timing well. We're headin off in about 8 hours for 4 days of great sprint car racing - Knoxville Iowa style! Last year Cody Whitworth won while we were in Iowa so I'm hoping this - victories when I leave the state thing - becomes habitual. lol.
I'm gonna really be a happy camper if I talk to JD or Mike and I hear that Whitworth wins. and that Joe Wood Jr. wins. And you as well Flash. I can't remember what other class is racing so the hell with it. But best of luck to all of ya'll friday night.

it's one thing to tear down at your home track , But it's another to tear down at a track that you only race at once or twice a year . It's just not worth it , I too would probably take the two hundred dollar kick in the butt and take it to the house .Plus there was more to the story , at first it was just bore and stroke ... that means leaving the engine in the car and just pullin the intake and one head , no dig deal a couple of hours the next week and your car is ready to go again . But when Dustin counter protested the guy then wanted the whole engine out of the car and completely taken apart ... 200 bucks and you can put the head and intake back on and still come out a little ahead ...The whole engine and you are out about 500 dollars or so ...it just doesnt add up . If it was a big show or the win paid some good money hell yah I would tear down .....but not for 200 bucks
That's just ADA's way of keepin out of towners away ..seems like every time a city car shows up it wins especially at the winternationals ..who knows maybe an ADA car can buy it this year !
I should probably just keep my mouth shut .. it's really none of my business , but it just makes me mad when people pull stuff like that . it just takes all of the fun out of it
winners dont cry when they lose , they go back to the
drawing board and come back for round 2 !

Well for those who want to know I"m the car owner of the 2B, I protested the #37D car on the 7/28/07 at oklahoma sports park and it was not for the bore and stoke it was a full tear down . and that is what the paper said that i gave to the official and it was not the first time the 37D had race this year at oklahoma sports park it was his #2 time here this year. Idont know why people get so upset when you get protested ,if you have nothing to hide. I have been protested in the past , and found illegal for a spring, our first year of racing, and I have been protested and found legal by pulling rods and piston out of a motor So that is part of racing you might get tear town.

2b don't know what you got now, but do know what you had. Because Richard Jarvis 78 is my brother-in-law, Jonathan Jarvis is my nephew, Les Miller is my nephew. 03 pure stock is a friend of mine. All we like doing is going to different tracks and racing and having fun. Win-loose-or draw makes no difference, we just like to have fun, after all racing is a Hobby!

LOL. naw. just wondering. I can see both sides to the situation though. I could definitely see why not to pull the motor out in that situation. I wonder if maybe the guy who protested you knew that as well. and could be a reason for why he did.
seemed like an interesting question because SFS is the track you race more than any other. BTW what would 1st place at ada have paid?

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN READING THIS POST I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE YOU SOME FACTS
OSP DOES TWO KINDS OF PROTEST. FOR $100.00 YOU CAN PULL A HEAD. NOT ONLY IS BORE AND STROKE CHECKED,PORT AND POLISH, CAM AND VALVE TRAIN, INTAKE, AND ALL COMPONETS ASSOCIATED WITH THEM.FOR $200.00 THE ENTIRE CAR WILL BE CHECKED STARTING WITH THE CHASSIS AND ENDING WITH THE ENGINE.
THE CAR PROTESTED SATURDAY NIGHT WAS A WHOLE CAR PROTEST. NOTHING WAS SAID ABOUT BORE AND STROKE.BORE AND STROKE ONLY IS NOT AN OPTION. THE DRIVER WAS TOLD HE MAY HAVE TO PULL THE PAN SO THE BOTTOM END COULD BE CHECKED BECAUSE HE DID NOT HAVE THE 1 INCH INSPECTION HOLE TO LOOK THRU AS NEARLY ALL FACTORY STOCK RULES REQUIRE.PEOPLE WHO HAVE RACED AS LONG AS CLAIMED SHOULD KNOW HOW THIS GAME IS PLAYED USLESS THEY WERE ILLEGAL.
ONE OTHER POINT I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IS 70 PLUS PERCENT OF THE CARS THAT RACE AT OSP COME FROM THE OKC AREA. (LOOK AT THE POINTS ON THEIR WEB SITE). SO WHY ARE PEOPLE SAYING OSP DOES NOT LIKE OUT OF TOWN CARS? MOST OF THEM ARE!
AS USUAL 99% OF THE STUFF POSTED IS CRAP POSTED BY PEOPLE WHO DON'T EVEN RACE AT OSP!

I love racing at OSP, slingin the granualted clay and watching the sprinters fly around the place is good stuff and those tasty Cheeseburgers, just one gripe ,George needs to serve Ice Tea and not just water and soda.

By "out of town cars" they are referring to those of us who don't make OSP our home track my friend! You don't seem very happy.
So since I have a 1" inspection hole in my oil pan, would I not have had to pull the oil pan when I was protested? I did not think about that it is good information.
