Great coverage just hate knowing the results. Brad Doty doing his usual great color work. I also like seeing the chassis mfg with the heat results. Not sure if I missed it or not but I dont think I saw a single Eagle chassis ?

Freddie wasn't even close before all the rain.  The 15 was unreal in that heat.  WOW

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

On a scale of 1-10 I give the production an 8.  Camera positions and focus was good and the commentation was good and stats seemed to be accurate.  The infield reporting was also good.  If I have a negative, its only that the lighting at the Grove needs to be improved for television.  If your there live its just ok but when televised there is far too many dark areas.

That was the best coverage that Sprint Car racing has seen in quite a few years.

I thought the coverage was the best i've seen since TNN days. The camera angles were spot on. The Areial shots of the track were awesome.

To the poster that said Williams grove needs more lighting. YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!! They have Musco lighting already. The Only spot that seemed kind of dark to me was turn 2.

Musco or not the lighting, especially turn 2 needs improvement for television.  Perhaps its as simple as adjustments to the angles or direction of the lighting and/or the cameras.  I have been to Williams Grove after the Musco lighting and as I said in my post, as a spectator it was good.  Again, other than my one issue with lighting, I thought the production in all areas was GREAT!

Coverage was good. My question is why in the world did they show Friday prelim instead of Sat. grand finale & Fast Freddy's historic win? Will that be next week?

Yes!!!!! Next week, and I can't wait. I am anxious to see how they commentated Fast Freds Finial National Open, and Historic win. In the Sprint Car world His National Open Win was equivelant to Dale Sr. winning the Daytona 500.

Check your cable listings. Those cable stations rerun everything, I taped it at 1 AM cause I was watching Saints clobber Cowgirls

Best production in YEARS.

Solidifies my thoughts that the first show (World of Outlaws: WOW!) was thrown together very quickly.

Brad Doty - consummate pro, always offers good insight from a driver standpoint and isn't afraid to say what he thinks as a fan (drivers hate double file restarts it sounded to me like juding by his commentary).

Dave Rieff - Great job, there's a reason he went from Knoxville Raceway to ESPN for the NHRA

Bokhoven and Gerould - always good to have commentators in the pits that do this every week (instead of someone with no knowledge of the cars, drivers, teams, or sport).

Only worrisome note for me:  lack of advertisers, pretty much everything was ads for DirtCar Nationals and Las Vegas Outlaw races (for NEXT season).  Lack of advertisers makes me nervous from the standpoint of it costs a lot of $$$ to produce shows like this, if advertisers aren't coming on board, that's bad (and only becuase at some point, CBS Sports Network is gonna look at cost vs. advertising $$$, that is unless STP and the WoO are "buying" the airtime).

Correct me if I'm wrong but in the stock car world the Daytona 500 is the biggest race of them all. So to find a race in the sprint car world that would be equivalent it would obviously be the Knoxville Nationals. Now if Freddie had won in his last attempt at Knoxville, that would've been a Dale Sr. type Cinderella story in my opinion. What he pulled off at the Grove was still incredible but that race doesnt have near the weight of the Knoxville Nationals.

Cheers!
