From the sounds of things, there will be some changes in 2014 @ Knoxville Raceway including:

All weekly races will be shown on MavTV instead of Mediacom cable (this would make the local races available to be seen from coast to coast instead of just in Iowa and parts of IL, MO, KS, NE, MN and SD)

Speaker system is to be upgraded on the frontstretch (much needed)

more signage will be added throughout the entire fairgrounds (graphic slicks on the barns showcasing the 4H and FFA kids showing their animals and projects (GREAT idea IMO, the facility is much more than just a racetrack).

New cleaning crew to take care of grounds, restrooms, grandstands (much needed)

Changes to "fairgrounds security" to more of an "event staff" much like all major concerts and such use (good change IMO, you don't go to any other major event and not have an "event staff")

Possibly some new (as well as increased involvement from others) corporate partners for major events and a possiblity of some exciting events during the Marion County Fair week as opposed to the "same old, same old"

Dish Network has it, you have to buy some $4 extra outdoor package that adds a couple hunting channels also but if Knoxville weekly shows are gonna a be broadcast I'll definately do it.

also, if you have a golf cart, you need to go by the police stattions and give them 25.00 to drive it on the streets

Serious, if I have Dish Network and want MAV TV I have to go to the police station and give them $25.00 or I can't drive my golf cart. Can I just go to any police station and pay them $25.00 or does it have to be the Knoxville PD? Does this affect any of my other Dish Network stations? This doesn't make much sense, I'm gonna have to check into this further.

just added to the changes that are happening at Knoxville. If you have a golf cart and drive it on the streets, you will need to get a permit $25.00 from the Knoxville PD

and that's different than me giving the state $350 every year to license my car?????

I don't have a golf cart (or UTV), but I'd fork over the $25 and provide proof of insurance in a heartbeat if I had one if that meant I could drive on the streets without having to license it through the DOT....

Are you kidding. I apologize for having a little fun. From now on if I say something that isn't pure facts I'll use 25 imotocons that are smiley faces and winks and rolling laughter so there is no doubt I was joking around and not trying to be mean to someone, which I wasn't

this place is getting to be something else,,all I said was that this is new and there are alot of people that bring golf carts to Knoxville and they need to be aware of what is taking place. Yep I got one and would be pretty po'd if I got stopped and given a ticket for not having a sticker. But like always, people have to interject there thoughts when it really doesn't have anything to do with them,,ie: I don't own one,,

Does anyone get MAV TV?  I do not have it, nor have I ever seen it at any hotel that I have stayed at (I travel to a lot of races in the summers).

We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

I just set my DVR to record Lucas Oil ASCS race that is scheduled to air on Sat. I think, I'm sure there not live but we'll see how they are. Scrolling through there schedule I would agree that there is alot of junk.

Maybe I took your post the wrong way, maybe I should have responded like this:

In the news, the city of Knoxville has decided to allow you to now drive UTV's on the street as well (not just golf carts) - as of November 1st the new ordinance went into effect.  However, UTV's must be inspected by the city of Knoxville and you must provide proof of insurance and you will be issues a 1 year use permit sticker (good Jan 1 - Dec 31).

My point is, they are actually making it EASIER to use your non automobile (golf cart, UTV, etc.) instead of just writing you a ticket when you're driving your UTV or Golf Cart down the street (locals have to abide by this ordinance too, so it's not just, the case of "those race fans have too many golf carts, let's put a stop to it").

Plus, it should make the city cops jobs easier, as if they can see the sticker on your cart, unless you are driving on the sidewalk or down highway 14 or running stopsigns or drinking and driving (or anything else that was already against the law), they won't have to pull you over and ask for proof of insurance and explain the rule to you (you'll already have done that when you got hte permit).

I have MavTV its great for the few programs I watch on it. This week was the last week of the Weekly Indiana Non-Wings "Flip the Switch" on Thursdays. Produced by Sean Buckley of Jackslash.com. They have shown 5-6 different ASCS National tour shows. It comes with my DIrecTV package I got at the begining of the summer. Channel 214. Channel 248 on Dish. It has also shown the MSRXSS winged pavement sprints weekly on Fridays and the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Models. More support we show them, the more open wheel they will show. If you notice a continuing theme with this is that they are all Lucas Oil Sponsored racing series, with the channel being owned by Lucas Oil.

^^ This ^^ ... only complaint I would have for Mav-TV, if you want to call it that, is that the open wheel stuff I watch is not in HD.
