$33,000 TOPLESS TURKEY NAT'LS: SAT. NOV. 30, 2pm!

Kilgore TX (10/29/13) by DarinShort.com. The final SUPR Late Model Series event of 2013 will be the biggest paying event of the season when the LoneStar Turkey Nationals hits the high banks of LoneStar Speedway Saturday, November 30th. The feature race is 40 laps in distance and pays $5,000 to win and $600 to start.

As in 2012, the SUPR Late Model Series cars will race topless. So race fans will get a clear view of the drivers as they wheel their cars around the wide, high-banked .33 mile oval.

The event is sponsored in part by P&W Sales located in Kilgore, Texas. P&W has been supplying drilling and oilfield products to the industry for over 49 years. P&W is also a proud sponsor of Late Model standout Morgan Bagley.

Fans can expect another large field of Late Model division drivers and several ‘invaders’ can be expected from throughout the region, including 2012 LoneStar SUPR Turkey Nationals winner Rob Litton; plus Kevin Sitton, Jim Bryant, Robbie Starnes, Shane Hebert, Robbie Stuart, Zach McMillan, Mikey Kyle, Brandon Hightower, Jeff Chandler, Tyler Erb – and many, many more. Other than the Late Model drivers required to being topless, all SUPR rules and formats will be in effect.

In addition to the SUPR Late Model Series, a complete program of Modified (paying $1,200 to win), Limited Modified ($750 to win) and Factory Stocks ($500 to win) will compete.

There is no entry fee in the Modified, Limited Modified and Factory Stock divisions. The starting field has been expanded to 24 cars in each of these divisions. Complete purse breakdown for all divisions and rules are located at the track website.

Special “Twilight” start times are in effect for this event, so fans and teams can have a great day of racing at the track, while leaving at an early time. With hot laps scheduled for 2pm and racing to follow, we expect the races to be finished around 8pm.

Here are some quick facts for the event:

-“Twilight Start Times” are in effect: Pits open at 11am, Grandstands open at 1pm, Hot Laps at 2pm, with Racing to follow immediately. The draw-in for race teams closes at 1:15pm

-General Admission $17 (ages 12-64; tickets available at the gate on race day only)

-Kids (ages 6-11) just $5

-Ages 5 and under admitted free with adult admission

-Active Military (with I.D.) or Senior’s (Ages 65+) General Admission $15

-Upgrade any ticket to the Reserved Section (bucket seats) for $5 per person

I've been receiving some emails of where to find the purse breakdown. As with every LoneStar event, they are posted at the track website http://www.LoneStarSpeedway.com under 'resources'.

Here's a direct link to that file (which is also in the press release above): http://www.lonestarspeedway.com/downloads/1003/fi1003_2926.pdf

A really solid purse breakdown has been posted for this event in all divisions and the feature starting fields have been increased from 20 to 24 in the Mods, Ltds and FS (as compared to the 2012 event).

There is no entry fee for the Mods, Ltds or FS. All pit passes are $35 with general admission adult tickets $17.

Modifieds: $1,200-600-500-400-300-220-200-180-160-140-120-100...to 24.

Ltd. Modifieds: $750-400-300-250-200-180-160-140-120-100-80...to 24.

Factory Stocks: $500-400-300-220-200-180-160-140-120-100-80-60...to 24th.

SUPR Topless Late Models: $5,000-1,500-1,200-1,000-900-800-700-700-650-600...to 22nd.

It may be a gloomy day this Saturday, but if the weather forecast stays as predicted for the Turkey Nationals next Saturday, it's going to be perfect racing conditions!

Both NOAA and The Weather Channel have the same basic forecast: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the upper 40s.

Visit www.LoneStarSpeedway.com for complete event details, event flyer, purse breakdown for all 4 race divisions and rules (all LoneStar posted rules will be in effect).

411...only the SUPR LM's are topless for this event. The modifieds and limited modifieds will race with roofs, as normal.

Everything is still looking great for the race day. The track received a good soaking the past couple of days, but race day is still showing partly cloudy and low 60's at race time (2pm).

Strict draw cutoff of 1:15pm - please arrive on time so it doesn't cause a delay in start times!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING & SEE YOU ALL SATURDAY.

Click www.LoneStarSpeedway.com for complete event details, event flyer, full purse breakdown in all four divisions and rules.

Everything is looking FANtastic for the $33,000 Turkey Nationals at LoneStar Speedway tomorrow.

The forecast still shows partly cloudy and dry when the action kicks off at 2pm with temps in the low 60's. The hourly forecast shows temps of around 50 degrees by the final checkers...that coupled with a very light breeze of 5mph out of the south will make for a great finale.

HERE ARE A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES:

RACERS - DRAW CUT OFF IS 1:15PM SHARP! And with heats in the Mods-Ltds-FS being draw for position, you will not want to miss drawing in! Plus it will help keep the show running on schedule. Also note that the only division racing topless will the the SUPR Late Models.

There is no entry fee in the Mods-Ltds-FS. The pits will be open by 11am, all pit passes are $35. $1,200/win and $100/start Mods, $750/win and $80/start Ltds & $500/win and $60/start FS. 24 cars start each feature. A very solid purse is posted and the full breakdown is on the track website.

Hot laps at 2pm with racing to immediately follow.

Grandstands open at 1pm. Adults (ages 12-64) are $17. Kids (ages 6-11) are $5. Seniors/Active Military $15. Ages 5 & Under are free with adult purchase. No outside food/drink is allowed into the main grandstand entrance. A full line of hot food, drinks, beer; etc. are available at family affordable prices.

DIRECTIONS: Take exit 583 off of I-20 and head north. At the stoplight (approximately 1/2 mile), head east approximately 1 mile to the track entrance on the right (south) side of the road.

Don't miss the final race of the year! $5,000/win and $600/start for Topless SUPR Late Models will really bring out the cars and stars! A great field of drivers in all divisions are expected.

IT'S RACE DAY! $33,000 up for grabs at LoneStar Speedway TODAY at 2PM!

Nothing official, as there is no preregistration for this event, but here is my car count prediction for today's race:

34 SUPR LM
30 Mods
49 FS
37 Ltds
=150 cars

One thing is certain, it's going to be a perfect weather day for an event like this...62 degrees, mostly sunny and dry...52 degrees forecast at the time of the final checkered flag. Should be a great crowd on hand as well.

Here's a couple of 'insider' tidbits...Sam Hafertpe Jr. will be racing the #84 topless SUPR LM owned by Tom Lorenz...Jason Troutman will be tackling the LSS high banks for the first time in his 1* Ltd Mod...and last year we had a few 'invaders' show up, and for $5,000 to win this year, you can expect that as well....Allen Baxter's teams based out of Dallas said they are bringing 'several cars' to race as well.

DRAW CUT-OFF FOR HEAT LINE-UPS at 1:15PM!

Visit www.LoneStarSpeedway.com for complete event details!
