That the dirtiest of drivers I have ever witnessed in 40 years of sprint car racing has won the short track nationals...congrats, you are deserving...may you feed a right rear to many more locals before you hang up your wheel, as those of us know remember how you were a pussy and pulled a pistol on Bill Utz when u couldn't back up dumping him that up so long ago....same sammy...congrats....

Like him or hate him, people like you can't shut up about him so you must think about him alot. Hating him won't stop him from winning or stuffing the next broke dick driver in the wall to win tomorrow.Why care really it won't help your cause? Steve and Sammy deserve to be mentioned in the same category but dont lose your mind !!! Steve Kinser is the KING as the shirt in my drawer says " IS , WAS , ALWAYS King of the Outlaws " Sammy is a legend that will never change but there is only one "KING". In case ur wondering Im a bigger Sammy fan than a Steve fan but the facts dont lie hes still the KING.

Wow. Just when you think you've read it all in an internet message board... WOW.
ALSO: I'm a Slammin' Sammy Swindell fan but Steve Kinser is the King. Didn't know that was even close to debatable. I don't know what we'll call Schatz in 10 or 15 years if he keeps this up but he may be worthy of a proper nickname based on what he's already accomplished.

The best way to keep Sammy (or anyone else) from feeding you his right rear is to outrun him.
I am confident that most drivers have aggressively passed another car at some point in their career. Some may even take that opportunity to dump another car; either out of meanness or in an attempt to slow cars behind them. Regardless, our whining and crying about "dirty drivers" is completely pointless and a waste of time. What do we think this will accomplish? Are the "Race Police" going to ban Sammy from the track? No way. Is this going to convince die hard Sammy fans he's a bad guy? I doubt it.
I am amazed that guys like Steve, Sammy, Fred, etc. still have the ability to compete at their age. They're proving their greatness by the longevity and their ability to keep winning. We don't have to like them along the way.
If we don't like what we see on the track we can stay home. I don't like watching Schatz win The Nationals (almost) every year but I keep buying tickets in hope that I'll be there when he fails to win. (And oh yeah, the rest of the racing is awesome!) Did Schatz rough up anybody on his way to the front this year? Maybe. Does any other driver regularly drive aggressively? Most certainly. Don't we like it when our favorite scratches and claws his way to the front? Absolutely. If our favorite roughs somebody up along the way we usually look the other way.
