what a terrible race, they blame it on the wind.. but if there going to have a great car count they have to really redo the track all nigh ,ttear it up and do it right .. its a terrible thing to hear the racers apologize for the racing,, feel cheated for the 44 dollars i spent plus the gas and food .. great cars on hand.. just disappointed because chico can have the best shows ,,will probally go back but will not attend a double show if they cant prepare the track a little better.

Track wins fans lose. Only two cars that started in the first seven rows moved more than one spot forward

From Andy Forsberg's facebook page:

"Final night of racing in Chico ca tonight, and that's a good thing because it mite take all winter to break through the layer of rubber that laid down tonight!! 15th quick. Won heat. Started 9th in dash, finished 9th. Started 9th in main, finished 9th. Pretty damn exciting. Too many cars for one night of racing if you don't have the equipment to re work the racetrack at some point through the night. Pretty bummer way for sds to end the season like that because things were good here this season. Hopefully someone might be able to go to an equipment auction and pick up some kind of drag or scraper to help rejuvenate the track on nights like tonight."

At this year’s promoter’s workshop we can only hope that the traveling series reward the race tracks that are showing improvement in their facility with more of their races. With the cost of entrance into the stands as well as the pits it is sad that  a promoter does not put out more of an effort to reward the fans with a good racing surface. It would be nice to see tracks like Stockton and Calistoga get more races. We will see.

The majority of CA tracks passed on the west coast summer schedule because the WoO fees are so high.  I doubt they will reduce the cost so dont expect many changes next year.

Pretty sure he is referring to KWS and CW traveling series.

Agree track was garbage Saturday night not even worth watching any of the races last night track was already gone during the last half of qualifing. No passing in any of the mains Boring! One of the big problems at Chico is they over hot lap the track .In closing the track was good on Friday it was a shame the track was junk on Saturday. I know they can do a better job of preparing the track they just didn't put out the effort.

More nights like that and Calistoga and Stockton will be getting more races!

They should invest in one of those whir lie birds ( harro) like Tulare has.

We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Ron, i think the track was very racey on Friday night come feature time. It is too bad that they arent able to duplicate similiar track conditions when they race 2 nights in a row. Andy F's comments above seem right on about having the right equipment and the knowledge to step in during a program and re-prep the track.

Is there any difference now and when John P. ran the track as far as equipment goes?  I know John would put in hours and hours and hours getting the track ready for the ten years I was at the Gold Cup.  Few people worked harder in my opinion to provide a great and racy track urface than John.  Are the people running the joint now putting up the same effort, just wondering from a distance....
