I have been running a 9 year old Beaberbuilt chassis this year non wing...I only have a very mild 305 in it and am running with open engines and doing just fine.
Beaber builds very few "cookie cutter" chassis.... most of his cars are tailored to the customers needs... All this means is that I can't give you my baseline set-up and expect it to perform the same on your car...
You can, however, call Tony Beaber at his shop and speak directly to him. He is going to need some details about your chassis... WB, setback, raised or standard rail, etc...he may ask you to measure a couple things on it...but he will probably know exactly which frame you have when you give him some info. From there he will be able to steer you towards an excellent starting point for various track conditions for your frame.
The info he gave me to start the season was so good that I haven't changed one torsion bar all year. Shocks stagger spacing and tire pressure gets adjusted to suit the condition of the dirt regularly, but otherwise I am still on exactly the baselines he gave me for 3 different track conditions.
I have one win, 4 seconds and a bunch of top 3s at my local track this year running against an entire field of motors with darn near doublke the horsepower I have.
I have been so pleased with how this car drives and with the support Tony has given me that if I should EVER be in a position to buy a new chassis there is no way i would by from anybody other than him. PERIOD. And keep in mind I have not given them one stinkin dime... I pulled a retired drivers car out of the attic and am racing it. Haven't bought one thing from Beaberbuilt or anybody else this year but I still get teated like I'm the best customer they have.
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.
