Reminder, here's the brand new revised schedule, released at 7AM on Saturday morning:

7AM 9/21/13 EVENT UPDATE: PORT-A-COOL® U.S. NATIONAL DIRT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP REVISED START TIMES FOR SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21!

Lingering inclement weather continued to alter the scheduling plans of the Port-a-Cool® U.S. National Dirt Track Championship at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track. After Friday evening’s action was washed out at the .4-mile clay oval, Texas Motor Speedway officials had planned to run a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. CT but those plans were altered due to a stalled front in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

The doubleheader schedule featuring the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series, along with Limited Modified and Modified racing, will be compacted with gates opening at 1 p.m. and on-track activity beginning at 2 p.m. For competitors, credentials and the pits will open at 10 a.m.

“Persistent rain hampered our drying efforts so to provide a better track for the drivers and a better show for the fans we are pushing back the start time,” Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track General Manager Cameron Branch said.

Following the completion of the on-track activity that was originally scheduled for Friday evening, the grandstands will be cleared and racing will continue with the second half of the Saturday doubleheader. Gates will reopen at 7 p.m. with the races resuming at 8 p.m. The evening races include the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series heats
and culminate with championship races for all three divisions. Fans that purchased tickets for Friday night’s event can utilize that ticket for admission to Saturday afternoon’s activities. General admission for the heats and qualifying action Saturday afternoon will be $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. General admission for the evening championship action is $25 for adults and $10 for children.

For additional ticket information, please contact the Texas Motor Speedway ticket office at (817) 215-8500.

Updates on Saturday evening’s schedule and results can be found on the Texas Motor Speedway App, Facebook, Twitter and http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com .

Everything is still on schedule. The first of 10 14-car Ltd Mod heats finished at 2:45pm, and there are 91 Modifieds signed in. Will get an accurate sprint count later, as there's still sprints rolling in...but there are a bunch, including Sam Hafertepe Jr.

Wow, Sprint cars pay $100 for a pit spot on pavement. $60 to practice on Thursday, $30 per person for a pit pass saturday and if you don't make the A you get $150??? Plus pit passes from 91 Modifieds. Plus $75 - $140 enrty fee from 91 modifieds. Talk about a "back gate promotion".

TMS $100 entry fee for mods or $140 for late entry.

Knoxville Nationals $50 entry fee $100 for late entry for 410 sprints?????????

1:30 am central time Sunday morn and your results link only shows line ups and results for a bunch of mod races. Nothing at all about the ASCS Sprints.

For the second time in my life I walked out of a track without seeing most of the racing!

I understand they had weather issues on Friday as I live 45 min from the track.  But the manner in which the Sat night program was completed was utterly mind-numbing.

Looking at the grandstands pre/post Sat night program, it was obvious the majority of the fans in attendance were there for the sprint cars.  They took about 45 min from the end of the Friday program and reworked the track and it looked beautiful.  We then had to endure about another 25 minutes while Spanky Spangler Jr attempted to clip an infield light tower while flipping his 1970's into another pile of junkers.  I'm pretty sure the track folks never intended for him the come close to the light tower but they had lined 6 round-bals up just in case.  From my vantage point he oblitereated 2 of the round bales.

Next up sprint cars???  No way, can't not start the evening with another 5 B-mains for the modifieds.  Starting 16 cars for 12 laps and taking the top 3.

Finally, the sprint cars took to the track for hot laps around 1035p.  I assumed they would head back to the pits for some minor adjustments and roll straight into heats.  NOPE!  More modifieds.  At this point I don't even remember what the race format was.

The sprints finally made it out for their heat races at 1135p. Five heat races took probably 45 minutes in total.  George White was dumped coming out of 4 for the nights only red flag.  It was this point I noticed 3 push trucks lined up behind the field???

After the heats were over I was again hoping for a short break and roll straight into the B's as the talking heads in the press box had informed the crowd we had nothing but features for the remainder of the evening.  So whats the first feature to take to the trask, the first of 5 qualifying features for the limited modifieds.  Decided to try and wait it out and when George White proceeded to dump his modified into the same location in turn 4, damaging the fence in the process I hit the road.

Saw twitter feeds this morning that the races completed at 420a.  This was as stupid a call to run a race in this format as I can remember.  The was a constant exodus of fans throughout the evening.

Sounds like I missed one hell of a feature, but I didn't want to entirely runi my Sunday by getting back to the house after 5am.

TMS Dirt Track is a great facility and I will go back, but only if they've run the previous night show.  This was piss poor management of a show in my opinion.
