Hendrick and Gordon are whining they were robbed.  Anyone doubt by Chicago that NASCAR will kiss up to Mr. Big Team, Chevy, and the sponsors to allow Gordon to be in the Chase.

Had the caution NOT come out, Gordon was in the chase.  I think it is a legitimate beef.

They were robbed. The same incident that took Newman out of the chase also took Gordon out of the chase. They have a legitimate complaint and I would be pissed too.

If you are going to give Newman a chase spot then Gordon should also get in.  I don't think either driver will be factor in at the end of the chase.  Just my thoughts.

I agree that in the case of saturday nite the may have got screwed a little by the circumstanses, but on the other hand had they run better in the first 26 races it would have been a none issue it came down to 1 or 2 pts or 1 or 2 positions over 26 races.  I don't in any way condone what mwr did should the fines and pts went deeper maybe.  I think nascar did the right thing  addressing it the way they did  should clint got penalised more,  the loss of championship and owner pts were sufficent, he ran well enough all season long to put himself high enough in the pts. to where the penalty did not make as big of a difference in the chase  it is a bad deal had the shoe been on the other foot as far as hendrick is concerned don't think the penalty's would have been as deep, but just my opinion

Couple of good points--but I disagree with a couple.  I don't think the penalty would have been any different if it were Hendrick--there have been some pretty severe penalties and suspensions for Hendrick also--some that were the most costly and severe ever at the time they were issued.

I do agree with you that one could argue that Gordon didn't run well enough to get in the Chase in the previous 25 races.  However, neither did Truex.  That being said, Gordon was running where he needed to in race number 26 to get into the Chase and had it taken from him by foul play.

I would be extremely pissed if I were Gordon and Hendrick motorsports and this may not be over with yet.

agreed

sounding like there could be some sponser  issues for mwr  with napa and 5 hour

I would be pissed also but again they did put themselves in that pts situation thru there performance leading up to the race and had it not been them it would have been another team in the same circumstance where  do you start and stop (maybe ask carl just kidding)

to many teams/alliance/satelite teams  in the sport any more  not just in nascar but in all motorsports  it leaves the door open for to many inscrupulous things to happen

Bill Elliott should be in every chase till he dies because of the lunacy of the restrictor plate.  All the money in Japan will not overcome the thing NASCAR and its puppets call parity meaning everything's great as long as chevy is champion.  I hate that I just took the last minute of my life to do this though.  Those fools down there don't deserve my time.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

The most egregious part of this was clearly Bowyer spin out, which isn't even what is being punished. They should have set the chase field with who was in it  before Bowyer spun out, and kicked Bowyer out of the chase and put Logano in.

I look for NASCAR to find "post-race violations" on the #15 car this week and essentially end hid chance for a championship and continue to find "violations" weekly that cause them to lose laps (no lugnut on your wheel, return to pit road, oh, guess we didn't see it on there, sorry but you're 2 laps down now).

Don't think they will add Gordon to the Chase (they'd have to remove someone else, do you penalize Lagano that had NOTHING to due with it?).

Simple.... Don't remove anyone, just add Gordon to the chase.

Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

Boyer was the cause of this whole incident and he walks away with hardly any punishment. Boyer should have been DQ'd and lost all his points for the Richmond race.

Now that is a punishment that would have gotten every owner, team and drivers attention!

It was not just the spin it was calling in vickers earlier in the race to give truex a point for leading and then at the end if the race calling in truex and Boyer after his spin in to the pits to give lagono two more spots which altered yet he finish of the race

I don't aim to please.
I aim to hit the target.

What the hell was NASCAR supposed to do other than the testrictor plates, let the cars fly into the grandstands? And who let who have the 2 door door taurtis?

NASCAR may have to end the "Chase"...reports now have Penske and Front Row conspiring to benefit Logano.   By the time the smoke clears, Danica may be in the Chase.

and oh how the plot thickins just found this on jayski

Penske deal with Front Row at Richmond to help Logano? UPDATE: Penske Racing may have cut a deal with Front Row Motorsports in the closing laps at Richmond for track position to help get #22-Joey Logano in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship. In radio communications reviewed Wednesday by The Associated Press for Front Row driver #38-David Gilliland, his spotter informs the team of a request to let Logano pass him in the final laps of Saturday night's race. Logano was trying to claim a spot in the 12-driver Chase field. Both Penske and Front Row are Ford teams and thus considered partners. A voice on the radio, believed to be crew chief Frank Kerr, asks who the request is coming from. The spotter replies: "We've got the big dog and all his cronies." Kerr then says: "Travis knows what I've been asking for," an apparent reference to Penske Racing competition director Travis Geisler. Logano passed Gilliland on a restart and finished 22nd, one spot ahead of Gilliland and good enough for a berth in the Chase field. "Good job, good job, man," the spotter says after the race. "Hopefully we'll get something out of that." Statistics analyzed by AP also show Gilliland's lap times dropped off by almost 1 second from the times he was running prior to the radio communication.(Associated Press)(9-11-2013) UPDATE: "NASCAR is aware of reports about the #22 and #38 radio communications at Richmond International Raceway and is looking into it, but has yet to see anything in full context that requires any action."(NASCAR)(9-11-2013)

this gets stupider by the minute
