I want to clarify something in your post about Matt Mitchell's car,yes it was Dwight Cheney's motor, but the car isn't wrenched by Bobby Ferro, I'm the crew chief on the car and me and Matt make all the decision's on what we're going to do to the car and all Bob does is help clean the car and add's the fuel to it. So what I'm getting at is,don't write things that you don't know the facts about.

Terry James the real wrench on the 37 car.

I'll do the mea culpa. (Fair enough.) But what did Matt say to Jim last night on the field mic to sort of suggest as much?

Random notes from Saturday night's show:

  • How about the kid Logan Williams!  Won his heat, won the dash, and was running well in the Main before he had problems....all with an old Stinger chassis and a restricted 410!!!  Kid is smooth and fast!
  • I thought it was very ironic that the Sprint Car driver that towed from the furthest North was named "Hollywood"!  Another great run by Danny Faria, who put a 360 on the podium in the show position and took home the bonus $250.
  • Tough break for point leader coming into the night, David "Dynamite" Cardey.  The quick time lap was impressive.
  • Great to see both the Swanson cousins in Unlimited Sprint Cars Saturday night.
  • Can't say enough about the Jory/Williams clan bringing four (4) 410 Sprint Cars to each of the URA races.  The sport could use more teams like that!
  • Also cool to see the Larry Henry/Tony Jones #41 entry back out and a 2-car effort by John & Evelyn Springstead at SMS, with JJ Ercse back behind the wheel of the JSR #36.
  • Ruben & Katy Munoz did a heck of a job putting on a great show that ran pretty much flawless with five (5) divisions.  The track was amazing...fast but racey and wide!
  • Kudos to Team Bender for trekking all the way from Ramona to Santa Maria.  You won't find a nicer group of people who really impress me with their dedication on such a shoestring budget.  Same goes for Cal-Sun Racing, Mudball Racing & Jet Davidson, and the Wally Pankratz School of Racing...all making the tow and smiling the entire night.
  • The URA would really like to thank the 2-car effort of Neverlift Motorsports/David Prickett Racing for towing down from Fresno, Randi & Wally Pankratz, and Chris & Larry Ennis from San Diego for putting an Unlimited Midget race together the weekend before Stoga with very little notice.
  • Neat to see Aaron Schankerman run with the URA Limited Midgets.  Another Quarter Midget graduate that has potential.
  • Huge thank you goes out to Mike McCluney for all of his dedication and help over the weekend.  Very cool.
  • I hope black & green kiss and make up before things turn black & blue.  I hate seeing my friends go home upset.
  • The fight at Applebees was WAY more intense.  Holy crap!  Had no idea I would have to duck to avoid flying glass and blood splatter at a family restaurant.  Thankfully that had nothing to due with racing folk.  I appreciate the manager's concern for his customers and for comp'ing the meal.
  • Last, but not least, I want to thank all the fans, teams, and sponsors for the support.  The night was a successful night of great open wheel racing.  That's what this is all about and we couldn't do it without each and every one of you guys and gals!  See you at the next one...

Ihave no idea what Matt said,as you can't really hear whats being said on the front straight.
But for the last 3 years I've done the weekly maintenance on the car and the set ups that we use and on race day Matt and myself make all the decisions on what changes are made. Maybe you mistakenly enterpted what Matt said as I'm pretty sure he knows who his right hand man is.
