One of the better races I've seen in a while.  I lost track of the number of slide jobs.  Must've been nerve-racking for the drivers, but it was very entertaining for the fans.  Five classes of cars, a brief intermission, and we still were out by 11 (the promoter at Salina gets it).  Only one criticism -- concessions,  Bad Frito chili pie (an Oklahoma dirt track must excel with this item) and an undercooked hot dog.  Otherwise, great night at the track.  Jeff Swindell won over Jason Johnson.  Any reports from the pits relative to Sean McClellan and Brad Loyet?

Jeff Swindell, Jason & Loyet  mentioned in post-race interviews down front they hoped the cars running for 21st & 22nd position had as much fun getting in the leaders way as they appeared to.

Some guy then came storming down the steps claiming to Loyet,"I'm the owner of the car you put in the fence " and he launched into a tirade reminiscent of many a hot Friday night in the pits at OKC.   I have no idea if he was conncted to the 24 car or who he was.

I went pitside & I never saw anything happen between  McClelland & Loyet, Brad said "Me & Sean are friends, we'll work it out".

Problem is, how many times is SeaN McClelland going to get a chance to start on the pole of an ASCS  National ?? Not Many.     How many for Brad Loyet ??  As a National Tour Regular,He has a chance every race night.    I'd have like to have seen Sean kept his pole starting position to see how he'd do up there.

That was my first visit to the High Banks & even though that is a helluva drive, I'll go back.    Now my FAVORITE track.

Until they put mirrors in sprinters, lapped traffic will be in the way.  News flash to the frontrunners, the other guys are racing, too.  Besides, winged sprint car racing is pretty much a freight train around the top or the bottom, especially at the national level, if the lapped cars don't provide some drama.  If it hadn't been for the lapped traffic, the lead cars would have gone single file while pinned to the top of the track, and we would have been treated to a yawner.  As it was, they had to, heaven forbid, change lines and we all drove home thinking we saw something special.  Either deal with the lapped cars or take off the wings, boys.  We pay to watch you race, not hot lap.

That was a fun race for sure. I was in the process of moving my son to Siloam Springs and it was only about an hour drive back to the track, glad I went. It does seem that this is becoming a habit for Loyet. He pulled a similar move on Herrera at Kennedale a couple of months ago and the Herrera and Print Place crew rolled up on Brad's crew after the races. No punches thrown but a lot of threats, cussin and such. I felt bad for Sean, he passed a lot of cars in his heat and looked strong.
