I'd love to figure out why it hot links for me and not for you.

Great article as always sir.

FYI - If you haven't made it up to the Prescott track yet, they are reopening this weekend.

June 1 sprints. Mini sprints. Modlites. Dwarf cars.

Top row, about 4th from the right. Looks like a little globe with a 3 link chain underneath. It will bring up a new box to enter the URL.

Kevin, as a faithful reader of AARN in years past (counted the days until it came in the mail when I was stationed overseas), I have alwasy been a fan of Guy Smith. I remember his battles with Ernie Saxton back in the day! Anyway, my measly near 100 tracks is laughable compared to you guys, but curious how you feel about counting tracks that were paved over (I could count I-70 in Odessa, MO twice if that were the case), or ovals inside of ovals, etc, as two seperate tracks? Doesn't seem fair to me.

When I used to count how many different sprint cars I took photos of every year I used to count a driver twice if I had shots of him in a pavement car and a dirt car. Heck, I think I counted him again if he was in somebody else's car, lol.....Same sport, different subject, sorta....

I can understand doing that with the photos, makes sense. With the track count, I guess the way I look at it is if my arse sat in the same grandstands, went through the same ticket gate, parked in the same parking lot at a track, regardless of how many different ovals were built into the place - = 1 track. Same with asphalt over dirt or vice versa.

The trackchaser website says different surface or configuration = different track.

I agree with that, it's the track that matters to me, not the grandstands or parking lot.

(just curious, have you been to a track that had new grandstands built in between visits? How do you count that?)

I could add quite a few tracks going by their rules, but I dont. I could also add in some tracks that have been totally reconfigured, like Granite City,Lawrenceburg,Kokomo, and Richmond, which is fair.

Sometimes I am surprised they havent changed their rules to include tracks that have changed their name!

I'm sorry but I'm still net seeing the globe with the chain. I used to see it. I used to be able to hyperlink myself. I no longer see it. Is it my browser? I used Google Chrome now.
