Anybody else watch that phony Kurt Busch on Windtunnel last night? Why does the media keep giving this guy an outlet to talk? I know there are other drivers that have blown up at the media in the past (Tony for instance) but this guy has been brutal. The incident with Dr. Punch pretty much did it in for me--completely disrespectful. He tries to put on an act like he is a nice guy who just has occasional bad days--which is complete crap. He tested an indy car--who in their right mind would sign him is beyond me. I genuinely believe he is a complete tool and so is his brother. Not saying they don't have talent--probably both top 5 or 10 for racing talent in Napcar--just total wastes of fresh air.
Shame on you Dave for having him on! If you have him on again, put his ass on the spot and call him out on his behavior!

Concur with the comments on Busch - the guy looks like the biggest smartass everytime they interview him on TV.
Have to feel sorry for Dave Despain - he has just been turned into another SPEED mouthpiece to hype NASCRAP.
Took me all of 5 minutes to fast-forward through my DVR of the All Star Race - is any event more hyped, and yet is such a crummy show?

same could be said about stewart, yet people gobble his knob because he races, funds, and supports dirt track racing...atleast these types are passionate about racing and want to win, opposed to the types who just want to keep the car in one piece and log 500 laps of advertising for their sponsors..

1st, i will reply to this one: No, there is not a more crummy show than the All-Star Race. If you were in charge of the Saturday night All Star race, wouldn't you put it on a track that might possibly create some excitement? Bristol? Richmond?
But Charlotte? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Maybe 1 or 2 out of every 10 all-star races has been even remotely eventful.
I agree with everything you say.

Tony does not come off as a phony to me. When he apologizes, I actually buy it. Shoving a camera man who's camera physically contacts you (when you are irate) is different to me than treating a Dr. (Jerry Punch) like a total piece of garbage because you are a jackass. Kurt Busch's comments to Jerry were not spontaneous comments. He had time to realize the situation, think clearly, and react like a professional. He did not do that, and i do not buy his apology either. I have lost my temper and done or said something that I regret only later to apologize for it. I was sincere though. Just the way that turd carries himself gives me little doubt that he is a classless, arrogant, spoiled brat.
And yes, the things Tony does for the sport and as a person off of the track, should make a difference in what you think about that person in general as a human being. I get an icky feeling when I think of Kurt Busch.

All you have to know about Kurt he showed years ago when pulled over for a minor traffic infraction. "Don't you know who I am? ", he said to the deputy, listed his accomplishments in NASCAR, and told the officer he should be directing traffic and such nonsense. Same problem as his brother and many others comin up these days, never did an honest days work in their lives, so they have a sense of entitlement that makes them hard to endure.

Old ears has pretty much cut his ties with any major owner. He's very lucky the Denver folks gave him a ride. His "stuff" became old and sponsors got fed up. Unless a Hendrick or Gibbs becomes very hard up I doubt you will ever see him drive a top-tier car again. Even shrub has toned his line down a bit. NASCAR is totally sponsor oriented and they frown on "garbage talk" regardless of how unhappy a driver might be.

I'd say that Michael Andretti is top tier in anyone's book.

Them folks in Denver is a top notch team . A team mate and just a lil more money they will be talked about a lot more. Best sleeper team in the NASCAR garage.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

I don't care what attitude any driver has.. If you can race fast, clean, be wildly exciting and win, you'll have my attention. Nice guys finish last.

Not impressed, they all have charity organizations. After his treatment of Jerry Punch, he deserves no respect.

I agree. All have some sort of charity they are "involved" with. I already gave him a second chance and a third chance. Not a good person. No more chances.

You answered your own question.

I never answered my own question. I turned the TV off after listening to Dave kiss his ass for about 2 minutes. So, I ask again: why do they have this tool on TV? It costs them viewers. I am not the only person I know that turned it off when they saw Kurt on there.

It is all about $$$$$$$$$$$. Look at the exposure Nascar gets on Forums such as this when Kurt Busch is involved in anything.

Kurt is a complete dousche. Everything he says isn't said out of frustration, he says it for attention and he is horrible at. You can tell by the flow of his words. I have been around racing my entire life and I know a good cusser when I see one, Kurt isn't one.
Last year at the Prelude he said something about premature ejaculation in a interview. It was so premeditated and didn't even flow.... Again, compete dousche.

I never really thought much about why I can't stand his rants, but you are absolutely right. It is like he sits in front of the mirror rehearsing the night before. I agree with the comment at the Prelude too, now that I think back at it. Kurt tries too hard to have a personality. Doesn't work for him. He should take a lesson from DW. If nothing but total, unintelligible nonsense is going to come from your mouth, you should take a job where you do not have to do any talking at all.
And as for his treatment of others--I can't put my finger on why he is so different--but there is a difference in the tone of his voice when he speaks to his crew on the radio during a race and when other drivers speak to their crews. I hear upset drivers all of the time on the radio and he takes the cake for being disrespectful in my book. I think he treats everyone around him like garbage until it is time to pull out one of his poorly rehearsed paragraphs in front of the camera.
Good post!
