The rain is gone and it's on folks!

Man I haven't see a 360 race since the Short Track Nationals and I think it's about time!  Since Mother Nature's called my hand down here and rained me out of all my "gigs", I think a trip north is appropriate!

After all the ASCoT points race is hotter than a pistol right now!

There's a dead heat atop the standings right now with The Texan, Gary Wright from Hook's....I mean Hooks, Texas and Okie Wayne Johnson and we're half-way through the season!  What's at stake?  Just Fifty THOUSAND dollars is all!

And hot on their heels, just 3 points behind is the Racin' Cajun himself, Jason Johnson (no kin to Wayne) from way down south in Eunice, Louisiana, AAAHHHH-EEEEEE!!!

Just like last year, the 2006 Short Track Nationals champion is hitting his stride in summer. JJ was third in THEE Knoxville Nationals -- 410 version -- last year.

Lets throw in the Tim Crawleys and the Travis Rilats, Darren Stewarts, Pete Butlers and all the I-30 regulars plus the ASCoT travelers and the extras for Speedweek and it should be a dandy!  Heavy track tonight too so get the stop watches out folks!!!

Enjoy.. I-30 is one of my favorite tracks. Its always nice to go back home. But,because of work(OVERTIME) I was unable to make it down, but I have Monday inked for the show at the "CREEK." Who knows you might have some surprises, maybe a Terry Gray sighting, or perhaps Kenny Adams, damn that would be cool... Enjoy the show....

And Gary Wright wins again with Wayne Johnson second. The point standings now have Wayne 4 points behind Gary and Jason 11 points behind Gary. Results on www.ascsracing.com .

That Creek County show Monday night should be amazing.

And... was it 5, or even 10 years ago people started wanting Gary Wright to retire? WHY? Must have been his competitors.

I-30 sounded like a really good race. Wish I had been there, and wish I could go to the Creek Monday night. Hopefully I can catch the final 3 nights of Speedweek.

Not as many folks from out of town as I expected. No one from California this year. And where was Howard Racing?

I guess the 2 tracks backing out and the gas crunch (probably why they backed out) are keeping people away, but I-30 was a packed house.

It's hard to beat ASCS racing....

35 cars. Jason slid off turn three for a caution and went to the back before racing back through the field for that 4th. How about 17-year old Matt Covington getting 7th in only his 8th ASCS start! He was on the lead lap until the last one. Wright lapped up to 6th place!
