No matter how many pop-up blockers people us, we still get some kind of add to pop up. Whoever in the world come up with the idea of underlining and coloring the words was a freaking genius! Trying to trick us and make us think it's a link to something important. Now every time I try to read posts I have to navigate my mouse around the words or POP here comes an ad!

The random words in just about every post that are blue and double underlined! Is anybody else seeing this? They are little advertisements that pop up when you put your pointer on them!

Could be some kind of virus or spyware, probably spyware. Run your anti virus and spyware to see if it finds anything. Make sure you update it. It's your computer probably doing it.

All I see is the banner for the latest swimsuits. THAT is the only thing that has grabbed my attention.

It makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one getting them. I was beginning to wonder if it was my new ISP, and if it was, I was going to be ticked. I'll try running the spyware, ect. to see if it get's rid of them, then I'll check and see if the laptop does it too.
Sorry David....I haven't noticed the swimsuits...are they for men? LOL!
Thanks! At least I know I'm not going crazy now!

It sure sounds like the tricks ad-ware or spy-ware can do. Ad-ware and spy-ware are everywhere and unless your well protected computers can get them and you won't even know you have them.
By the way, the blue text below is a good link, it's not trickery.

I've got them too , But I just ran my spyware & adware last night & it was clean, but they do seem to be multipling. When I did the results for Elk City race last week, there was one on Elk, now there is one on Yukon also in same post.

I think this is marketing software activated directly by Hoseheads, the web host. The words linked to websites or ads sometimes change when you open up the message boards. It's not spyware or a virus on our machines. Kind of a pain, but I just keep the mouse away from the linked words. It's a sneaky marketing ploy though, because it defeats popup blockers.

I'm getting some blue underlined words in this post too. Racing From the Past is probably right. Its probably some spyware or adware infestation on our computers. I've ran anti-virus software and other stuff and it doesn't find anything. I hate this crap and wish there was some way to do away with it for good. Just out of curiousity which words on this post are being highlighted? On my screen I see:
Spyware
Computer
Laptop
They are all blue and double underlined.

Now once I posted they all went away? So I guess they change. Strange....

I searched it out and it is what is called in line text advertising. The big company that sells it is Vibrant Media. It appears that it is not ad ware or spy ware. It is a way to produce revenue for websites. It appears it doesn't affect power users as when I log out it appears.
