2 qualifying laps. 5 heat races, a last chance race, 30 trucks in 3 segments 60,50,40 laps. 150 laps total. what ya think of that?

I liked it except for the bit about the top 20 in points already being locked in. Too many positions to hand out for free.

Yeah, I saw this earlier over at ESPN. Wish I could be there.

Would be great to see these on 1 mile dirt tracks like Springfield, Indianapolis and a couple others. You could run 43 cars on mile tracks.

This is turning into almost a sort of "exhibition" race, even if it carries full NCWTS points. Dirt track ringers, heat races, Wednesday show - just seems like not a true truck race to me. Should have the same trucks and drivers we saw at Daytona and Martinsville. I only live an hour away, and you couldn't pay me to go to that race. Sorry.

What a completely illogical point of view from a dirt sprintcar fan.
Cheers!

It's what they oughta turn the rest of them into.... It doesn't take 200 laps to determine the best driver and fastest car.

i really like that idea rob. sides, they would rather be drinking wine in Calistoga, have a mud bath, take the train tour of the valley, than be across the road from a pig farm! wait, maybe not..
rob, u from Calistoga?
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...

the top 20 or 25 in truck points are guaranteed stating spots so most of the normal teams will be in the show.
but that is none of your concern because you won't be watching anyway.
to indy and beyond!!

You're right, I'll save my money for a real race. Got your tickets to this race? Have a good day buddy.

Lets face but without huge downforce and the truck glued to the ground half of these drivers could barely make it around a dirt track. As a owner I would take every chance I could on a accomplished dirt track racer to bring home the money. And if Kyle Larson is in it ill bet this will end up a race between Larson, Stewart , and Boyer. Who I believe came from the dirt scene. And I wish I had a ticket.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

I have seen two different classes of trucks race on Eldora, both similar in appearance (spoiler, tire size, etc) and it was no different than watching the pure stocks. My point is (was) when you make one race out of 22 a different format with different drivers, it becomes an exhibition of sorts. I'm glad you guys are excited, and if you have tickets, I'm sure you'll have fun. I'm not knocking anybody for wanting to go. Part of it for me seems Eldora is losing it's focus on the local racer. They finally brought back the All Star Speedweek race.... the 4-Crown now is a shadow of what it once was. I avoid all the big races out there anymore, except for the Kings and what is left of the 4-Crown. Just my opinion. I won't be at the truck race - and nobody will miss me I'm sure. I'll support the local guys somewhere that week.

There is video of Tony Stewart and one of the Dillon boys testing a Childress truck last year at Eldora and its not very impressive.

Larsonfan, Thats exactly why I don't go to Eldora much anymore, A couple of years ago I didn't go at all & then when I went last year for the Memorial Day weekend show just pissed me off even more. They had 360's, Mod's & Stocks & it cost extra for where I like to set. I can see the the reserved price for the bigger races but when Tony charges this for a regular race like the Memorial Day race is just bullshit. This race is not a sellout so it should be a deal where you set your ass where you set it for the night. You can't even buy a whole block anymore as they have made them all individual. I've said before that he can have all the other crap he wants ( Tractor Pulls, Monster Trucks, Etc. ) he won't get my money. Thats not what the place was built for in my opinion.
I used to go down 8 to 10 times a year & now maybe twice. I'll probably go to Limaland, Waynesfield & Eldora again. I will not pay the 4 dollars for a seat unless it's a Kings Royal or something like that. I'll walk around & stand somewhere 1st. Like you said the 4 crown is just a shell of what it was. Other dates have been changed. Track has just been crap at times. Like you I'll spend my money locally the weekend before & after & I'm sure nobody will miss me either.

I've run into that there as well. Waynesfield and Lawrenceburg will get most of what limited racing $$$ I have this year. I think a lot of fans cut Eldora a break because of Tony Stewart, and I am a nobody. I'll never have t h e $$$ for the suites, etc.
