Moose Racing needs your help!!!!

As we mentioned previously in a Mrs. Moose update, we requested you give blood in Laurie Sertich's name to thee American Red Cross. Well we are about to make that very easy for you to do. If we can get 50 people to sign up, The Red Cross is going to send a Blood Mobile to Perris Auto Speedway Saturday to accept your donations. Don Spitler has been working very hard to coordinate this.

It usually takes 4 weeks to get this scheduled, but with Don's prodding, they have agreed to shut down their office in Riverside, thus the requirement for 50 donors. With the crowd we expect at Perris Auto Speedway this weekend, 50 people should not be an issue.

Please RSVP via e mail that you will be able to donate Saturday at the track. The e mail address for your RSVP is [email protected] In the subject line, please put I Will Be There. Also, please include your name, phone number and e mail address.

Thanks for your support. This will not only benefit Laurie, but will benefit the entire community. I always tell people that racers and fans are the best people I have ever known. Now is our opportunity to prove it!

Good Luck with the blood drive for Laurie.I would love to participitate but on Fri. afternoon

my left knee is going to be replaced and I'll be in the hosp. for at least a week.They won't

allow me to bring my phone or laptop so I'll be out of touch for that time.If there is another

blood drive for Laurie down the road I'll do my best to show up......On the lighter side,make

sure Don Spitler doesn't start drinking beer until after he gives blood.LOL

Please keep in mind we are having a blood drive in honor of Mrs. Moose this Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway. We are required to have 50 people signed up for them to send the Blood Mobile. i think perris speedway can help with this great idea, how about 5 dollars off admission if you donate blood?

every crew guy from every team should do this to help show how we support our own family in racing,come on guys step up to the plate and make this happen.

I WOULD LOVE TO GIVE BLOOD BUT I HAVE MALARIA LEFT OVER FROM VIET NAM . I DONT KNOW IF ICAN DOES ANYBODY KNOW . I WAS TOLD WHEN I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL THAT I COULD NEVER GIVE BLOOD BUT THAT WAS ABOUT 45 YEARS AGO.

Not sure on the meds and Malaria. My suggestion would be to put your name on the list. The do a screening prior to drawing the blood. Even if you are rejected prior to the draw, this will help us meet our goal of 50 people. Thanks again for your support.

Moose Blood Drive Update

First, I would like to thank Don Kazarian, Scott Lee Daloisio? and the staff at Perris Auto Speedway for all of their support and flexibility in getting this coordinated. Also a special thanks to Tom Grunkmeyer and the staff at Freeway Auto Supply and Machine Shop in Mission Viejo, CA for stepping up and committing 5 donors for the blood drive.

We are getting closer to getting the commitments we need. I need to have about 20 more people by tomorrow at 9 AM signed up. We have been able to coordinate with the Red Cross to have the Red Cross arrive at 2 PM to get the people in the infield. If we are pitting inside, they will be in the pits up to the time the pits are swept. They will then be going to the front gate after that.

I have been asked questions regarding medications people are on the might affect them giving blood, or existing medical conditions that may interfere with the ability to donate. I am not sure. I know when I have previously given blood, the technician does a pre screening before the blood is drawn. They ask about medical conditions and medications, and evaluate your ability to donate at that time. My thought is sign up and let the experts handle that side of it.

As most of you saw, Laurie had a short post on Facebook this morning thanking everyone for her flowers, stuffed animals, cards, notes, calls, visits and good thoughts. She continues to progress in her recovery, and as of yet, we have not hit any set backs. She is a very strong person, and having this race community/family behind her makes her even stronger. Stability and progression is the best thing for her right now. Another update this evening!

Moose Blood Drive Update. NEED YOUR HELP!

We are at 40 confirmed donors. I would hate to be this close and not have enough people when 9 AM comes around tomorrow and we make that call to the Red Cross. This is important to all of us at Moose Racing. Please RSVP that you will donate blood at Perris Auto Speedway on Saturday. We have tried to make this as easy as possible. The Blood Mobile will be inside the front gate at 5 PM for fans in the stands and it will be in the pits (whether that is the infield or outside) from 2 to 4 PM.
