I appreciate Bill Rose running all season on such a limited budget, but did anyone notice the WOO website did a story on him running 11th in the points? That is the equivalent of a feature story on Nascar's Landon Cassill running 31st. (the lowest placing driver to run the entire schedule) I have always been a fair supporter of the WOO but these kinds of headlines just give ammo to all of the haters out there. Most of the folks getting on the WOO website are pretty well versed in their sprint car racing and know that 11th place means last place. How about not mocking him and title the story "Bill Rose completes entire WOO tour and hopes for more improvements in 2013." Sounds better than "Bill Rose finishes dead last again" doesn't it?

Those bastards! They just put another post about Chad Kemanah titled "Chad Kemenah, 10th in points". How dare they? Pretty soon they'll have a Lucas Wolfe article about him being 9th in points, oh wait...............

Haha

there are times when i feel pretty ignorant and dumb.

then i read posts like yours, and it makes me feel good about myself.

thanks

credit the woo for recognizing each of their drivers and giving a run down of their season and giving them a little national PR. they do it every year at the end of the season.

to indy and beyond!!

I have Bill Rose with 44 wins from 1989-2004 (7 Lawrenceburg, 8 Lincoln Park, 3 Tri-State, 7 Kokomo, 2 Paragon, 1 Vermillion County, 13 Gas City, 1 Attica, and 2 North Vernon). I also know of at least 3 winged wins in New Zealand, and the USAC Western Classic win last year at Chico. I'm sure I'm missing others between 2005-2012. (Thanks to Kevin Eckert for the access to his database. . .)

Don't know Bill Rose personally but I've always been a fan of his simply because he shows up and does the best he can with what he's got. He's a racers racer. Anytime, anywhere, wing, no wing, dirt, asphault. Maybe not a big winner but the guy has no doubt earned alot of respect among his peers so maybe in that regard he's a winner after all. Good enough for me and I wish him all the luck. Hope he stays with it.

If Bill Rose weren't an Outlaw, he would continue to be an outlaw. (two different things) - As a distant observer of Sprint Car racing, (I race a Late Model but try to keep tabs on Sprints) I've been intrigued by the way Mr. Rose does his racing. From what I understand, he still works when not racing and has been able to run a grueling Outlaw schedule the past few seasons with respectable equipment. It may not be the latest, greatest stuff, but he keeps up on it and it is ready to race when he hits the track.

Mr. Rose has been a respectable driver in not only winged Sprint Cars, but traditional Sprints as well. He has on occasion been known to hit non-winged races while en route to winged races. If that doesn't say TRUE OUTLAW, I don't know what is.

I see Flat Out Magazine will be doing a feature on him in the next few months, and I can't wait to read it!

He won an allstar race at central pa raceway while he was touring with the allstars. Some pretty heavy hitters were in attendance for that one and he dominated the race. Give the man some credit. He's out there living the dream.

"""these kinds of headlines just give ammo to all of the haters out there""" How say, azzhole egras? They should and do write stories about all of the WoO drivers, its expected. You say you are a "fair supporter of the WoO", me guesses you is one of dos haters. Did I guess right, thought so.

IMHO, they can write about the guy who finished 45th in points, I don't care. Would anyone be surprised that they might write a story each week about each and every driver who was contracted or who followed the series, and about drivers who followed the series part time. Any driver daring to compete with this series or any open wheel series (or stock cars) has my sincere gratitude. He11, any driver climbing into one of these beasts and driving around a bullring at an average speed of 110 to 116mph, (e.g., River Cities in Grand Forks,ND), or another corner of the country, Volusia Speedway's half mile at just under 130mph average speed----congratulations brave men.

I have obseved Rose on and off the track for a few years now, he's likeable guy! , pretty clean driver, wrenching his own equipment, running a grueling schedule, and pretty competitive doing it, He seems great with he fans and it looks like he loves what he is doing, whats not to like? I have a tendency to pull for the wildcard , if youve ever been to the dog or horse races its the least odds theat pay best! Id rather watch Rose once in victory lane than watch SK win another ten races (no offence just sayn) by all means Rose deserves better treatment than the header of this post, some should be ashamed , If rose begins to run strongly ill pull him off my roster of underdogs to cheer for and move onto the next Cinderella , thats just the way I am. thanks for layn it down Mr Rose..

thanks to you and Eck for the stats.

Not sure who said it, but it is great of the WoO to do a writeup for each of the drivers that ran their full campaign. It's great for the drivers, teams, fans, everyone involved. Such recognition should be more widespread in this sport, no more matter the level. Good for them.

Rose took 6th place in the 2003 Mopar Million race that Haud won, pretty respectable I would say for the amount of cars there.

Go to Bill's webpage and read his bio http://www.billroseracing.com/ IMO its pretty hard not to like a guy like this thats busting his ass and spending his own money to follow the tour, but then someone decides that they want to comment about the WoO site posting an interview with him or someone in the thread asks if he's ever won a race. It just feels like what the guys done he deserves more respect than this.

Not only does BILL race WoO all year . Early in the year here in Cali they had a short down time so he came down to SO CAL at the PAS and ran with the USAC/CRA 410s non wings . Bill is a true racer in my eyes .
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

I support both Bill Rose and Chad Kemanah because they "make" WoO racing. There's nothing better than watch one of these guys kick the butt of the high dollar teams of TSR or KKR! We don't get much publicity out of supporting these guys but they really appreciate the help! Buy a shirt from Bill or Chad and find out how much they appreciate your support.

If I remember right, he raced the PAS show because the WoO race was rained out. While the rest of the teams contemplated their next move, he was headed down the highway to Perris! I remember when I happened to come across the results and saw his name. It made my night!

Knowing there are still racers out there that do it for the love of it and will do anything they can to race is something that is rare these days but still exists. Danny Smith, Jac Haudenschild, Kody (and Kelly) Kinser, and the late, great Jesse Hockett come to mind, along with Bill Rose. I continue to pull for Chad Kemenah as well. I was one of the loudest cheering fans when Kemenah almost pulled off the win in Fargo earlier this year. Had 'em covered until a late caution.
