CALIFORNIA LIGHTNING SPRINT CARS CLOSE 2012 SEASON AT
BUDWEISER OVAL NATIONALS!

(Placentia, CA, October 30, 2012) The California Lightning Sprint Car Series will close the 2012 season with two complete shows this Friday and Saturday nights, November 2nd and 3rd, at the prestigious 17th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway. The USAC National & CRA Sprint Cars and the PAS Senior Sprints will share the bill on the triple header program.

Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian expanded the CLS
participation in the weekend for two complete shows due to the clubs long and successful run at the famous Southern California clay oval. "The California Lightning Sprint Cars have been a part of our program since we opened The PAS in 1996," Kazarian said. "They have always put on a top of the line show and they have produced some top notch drivers including Mike Spencer, David Cardey and Greg Bragg just to name a few. We think they have definitely earned the shot at two full shows at this year's Budweiser Oval Nationals."

Lomita, California 18-year-old Kevin Michnowicz won the 2011 CLS portion of the Oval Nationals. Even though he recently suffered a broken wrist after falling off a skateboard, he is expected to be ready to defend his title this weekend.

Heading into the final two races of the year, Bobby Michnowicz, Kevin's dad, carries an 80-point lead over Placentia's Dan Hillberg in the championship standings. Corona's Steve Limon, the 2011 CLS Rookie of the Year, is third in the standings just 32-points behind Hillberg. Anaheim
Hills veteran Guy Maresch, who led the standings most of the campaign, is
fourth and is only 62-points out of the runner up spot. Dale Gamer of Anaheim is currently fifth.

San Diego's Damon Arnett is sixth overall heading into the last weekend of the year and leads the Rookie of the Year standings, but Murrieta's Zach Zauss is only 22-points behind him.

Thus far in 2012, the CLS has made eight appearances at The PAS and Bobby Michnowicz leads the way with three wins on the club's home
track. Kevin Michnowicz is second with two wins while Stuart Hielscher Jr., Dan Hillberg and Limon have one victory each.

The California Lightning Sprint Car Series would like to thank 2012 series sponsors Christian Stover Foundation, Rod End Supply, Sander Engineering, Saldana Race Products, DK Machining and Fabrication, Keizer
