In a last ditch effort to stop the WoO from destroying sprint car racing...I think we the fans should let them know how we feel about their decision to pick American Racer.
I urge everyone to contact them and complain, hell even boycott the races (easier said than done), but this deal will be the death of the WoO.

I say let 'em die then. Who needs a group of 10-12 travelers that come into your track, charge $35 usually take the lion's share of the purse and leaves? I am sure the teams that want to run will find somewhere to run and would probably be better off going outlaw like it used to be.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

By the look of the car count (55) at the grove and the attendance(record), could have been more if there was any parking left last weekend the outlaws are going to be alright

I am very curious to the basis of the comments/worry that choosing American Racer will destroy sprint car racing. I think this is frankly WAAAAY overboard, yet you have chosen to make this a topic. Please feel free to expand.
I personally feel that electric engines are a much larger threat to the future of sprint car racing than the selection of one tire manufacturer vs. another.

If you wish to complain and boycot the WOO, please do so. I'm sure this is strictly a money issue as AR is giving more money to WRG than Hoosier offered. Personally, I think WRG has made quite a few mistakes over the past few years and time will tell if this was a good decision or not.

American Racer tires are fine, what the heck is wrong with them. How could they ruin the WOO? I think Knoxville will probably use them also. The AM Racer tirs were used for years by 360 at Knoxville. Do you have any engineer tech that shows they are no good. Also the AM. Racer tires to be used next year are not made yet. They may change comp a little hear or there. The cost of tires has gone out of control, you buy 2 hoosier rears at $230 each and they are good for 30 Laps (15 miles). The Am Racer tires are said to be ALOT less in price. Please remember the Goodyear tire was also going to be the end of WOO racing as alot of people said last year. If every one has the same tire and it cost less what is the problem? Am. Racer tires are used in paved racing in Ohio and Mich., they are very pleased with tthem.

Knoxville signed with Hoosier for ALL divisions (410, 360 and 305) a day or two ago.
From everything I've seen, sounded like AR was throwing around more $$$ than Hoosier was, but only committed to the tracks for 3 years. Since more tracks and sanctioning bodies are starting to sign with Hoosier, must be a difference in tire costs associated with the $$ they are willing to pay the tracks.

didn't knoxville already announce they were going with hoosier for all divisions on all four corners?
didn't they say that included the nationals?
so if the woo goes to a different tire, then they will have to run a tire they are not used to for the nationals.
i may have missed it, but where is the release stating the woo has gone with AR?
to indy and beyond!!

It may hurt the car count slightly at certain tracks, but I don't think a ton.

Maybe STP had some say about the tire choice.

From what I saw in previous threads, there were a lot of people hoping that American Racer would get the WoO contract along with other tracks. Then after one test this week and them blistering everyone seems to want to bash them. I'll still go to as many sprint car races as I can no matter if its Outlaws, locals, all stars, etc and I don't care what tires they run.

I think people are more concerned with "bang for their buck" when they go to a race.
It will cost a local team a minimum of $800 for tires and $150 for competitor license to take 1 lap @ a WoO event next season if the track they run normally doesn't run the same brand of tire that the Outlaws choose.
$800 start $$ is a loss of $150 BEFORE fuel, travel, pit passes, etc.. I think that is the point the original poster was trying to convey. Without LOCAL cars to fill in fields, the Outlaws will die quickly as "fans" will tire of spending $35-50 to watch less than 20 cars compete.
Until the ink dries on the WoO contract with American Racer, I'd day anthing can still happen. I'd heard they'd signed a "letter or intent" with American Racer, but don't know how binding that is in the court of law (which if they back out of their "Letter of Intent", I can about guarantee that it will end up in court).

Hoosiers still sell the most sprint car tires. AR will find out how many tires they will as did Goodyear and look where Goodyear is in sprint car racing now.
Still love husets

You would think the WoO would be smart enough to meet with the reps with Kville, PA, Allstar, etc..... and all run the same tire. Like the post above I cant afford to buy a full set of new tires for one race that I cant run the following week at my local track.
