Knoxville has the highest 305 car count in the state. Go with there rules and hopefully the will be smart enough to keep their rules the same and race. Thats exactly what has been wrong with the class from the begining everybody wants "their rules to be the one and only set " You really cant argue with the track and set of rules that has the most car count. Just my opion but go ahead and talk about "new" rules and scare the guys who want to build a car away because they dont know when the next rule change will be. REMEBER THIS EVERY RULE CHANGE COST THE DRIVERS MONEY!!!!

Not going to get in a pissing match because I agree there should be a lot more teching done. But you are wrong in saying knoxville doesnt have rules they do and since you've already proven you can read get on their website and read them then 34 Raceways rules. You will find they are a lot closer then people lead on. Yes they need to tech because rules are just words on paper unless they are enforced. And before you fire some smarta** comment back remember you started it with the insight crack

now you are talking,we need other block options.what is left of the old 305 blocks are just junk..as long as there is someone to tech the engines any block combination that gives you around 305 cubic inchs.should be able to be used

I believe that the proposed engine rules that will be dicussed will level the playing field, improve car counts, and help all of the 305 cars race more often, and for a higher pay out.

Carl and I do NOT have a "horse in this race", we just want to get the 305 sprint cars to become a more professional, affordable series no matter what engine package you run. Please attend the meeting on Sunday, Sept. 9th in Story City, Iowa.

Together, we CAN get this done!

knoxville announced at the drivers meeting last night .. approving 350 blocks for next season..same deal as the midwest 305 club is looking at next weekend..so with a little luck everyone may get on the same page and save the races some dollars

Carl, the 305's at Jackson are GONE. Could not get any cars. Only 7, 5, and 6 the last 3 shows. It also looks the 305's will not run at the Barstead Memorial at Jackson on the 29th.

Car You can talk to 10 people and get 10 different answers. I'm all for any block as long as it pumps out to the legal limit for the 305. Will let you know here in a day or so w

I don't think that the rules are the biggest problem the 305 class is facing right now. The problem everyone needs to be working on is the fact there is no tech. Make all the rules you want, if you aren't going to check them at the track, you are wasting ink and paper...

Allowing 350 blocks will be a great rule for the guys paying the bills, easier to find and will last longer. The problem is, since there is no tech, how many will be 316 or smaller?

We live in PA so I don't have a dog in this fight but the racesaver rules seem to work just fine here. Everyone has to have the motor sealed prior to racing & usually the top 5 is teched every night. We built our motor ourselves for under 5K & have been very competitive in our 1st year in a full sized sprint car. I am sure there are guys with more in there motor but with this class it comes down to the setup & driver. We haven't bought a new tire this year we get used ones from the 360-410 guys for $30-40 each. There are 3 differrent organizations with 2-4 hours of us all of them average 24 cars per night with this rule package.

Teching for 1 night isn't quite what I was going for. The last race of the year isn't the time to start teching. What about the other races this year? Not just Knoxville, ALL 305 races? They started at the last race this year, what happens when they stop at the first race next year? There are 2 problems with tech, the tracks for not enforcing the rules and the racers for letting them get away with it...I say pump every car that unloads EVERY WEEK. No exceptions. We all get there plenty early enough, it doesn't take that long. There are more items that need checked also, but pumping every week will be a neccessity if they are going to allow 350 blocks.
