Gullion Claims First Career NCRA Sprint Victory!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Doniphan, Nebraska – August 18, 2012 - Making his first career appearance with the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car division netted his first career series feature victory as Adam Gillion led wire to wire in claiming the victory as the tour made their annual appearance at Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Doniphan, Nebraska Saturday night.

Gullion, driving the #32 Turp's Automotive/A1-Autocare and Repair sponsored sprinter, started on the front row for the twenty five lap feature and took the lead as the green flag fell. Current Brodix rookie of the year leader Zach Blurton chased the leader throughout the race and was in position to make a move if Gullion would slip up from the bottom of the three-eighths mile oval.

But the Beatrice, Nebraska driver and his Eckley powered Schnee chassis hit his mark each time and went on to claim the victory and become the third different feature winner in as many races on the tour and sixth so far on the 2012 race schedule.

Blurton earned his best feature finish of the year in his rookie season with the series coming home second aboard his familiar #2j MAP Inc./Crop Insurance/Physical Therapy Center sponsored sprinter.

Current series point leader and defending tour champion C.J. Johnson claimed third while Patrick Stasa and Jeremy Campbell rounded out the top five.

The night got off to a rough start for Davis Kubart as his first appearance with the series lasted just for hot laps as he flipped destroying his sprinter. He was uninjured but done for the night.

The next event for the NCRA 360 sprint car series will be a triple header Labor Day weekend and could go a long way in deciding the 2012 championship. It all kicks off on Friday night, August 31st at RPM Speedway in Hays, Kansas. Then on Saturday night it is down to the home track of the series, 81 Speedway on September 1st. The Labor Day weekend of racing will come to an end as it always does on Sunday night with their annual appearance atop the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas.
