The
Wayne county sheriff has contacted us and informed us that he considers
drinking alcohol in the grandstands an open container. it is possible
that he could show up. Drink at your own risk.

That is crazy! I would think it would be considered a private club since you pay to get in...IMO

You can have 50 different answers to this as the liquor laws in the USA, as there is 50 states, you have state laws, county laws and city ordnances. I live in Missouri and it is very hard to figure out the Liquor Laws, I could write a lot more but it sounds like a big mess in every state. I do know the Missouri Law.

What pic1940 said. It varies from state to state, county to county, even town to town. I would assume that if they sell it at the track you can drink it there too. If you have to bring it in I wouldn't try my luck.

At least all the people crying on the Knoxville thread about the drunks in the stands will be happy. Wayne County might be packed this weekend with all the Knoxville folks!

The people that attend that track tend to be more "redneck" than other sprint car tracks that I've visited over the years. That's not a slam by the way. I could see them getting a little bit rowdy if the pigs start messing with them.

I do not think anyone was complaining about drinking in the stands, we were complaining about people in the stands that cannot control their drinking and become loud and obnoxious. No one should have to put up with being pucked on!
