Dad passed away this morning shortly before 11am.. He went very peacefully. Me and my family would like to say thank you to everyone for all the thoughts and prayers through all of this.. He has left a big legacy behind and i know hes up there with all the other fallen racers.. I hope when everyone gets in their cars tonight and goes out on that track my dad loved so much you think of him.

God bless you and your family Rebecca. Dutch ter Steege was a true racing ambassador to the OKC and Oklahoma region.
Its a sad time on earth but a joyous occasion in heaven.
Peace to all

I agree 100%. So sad for us, so joyous up above.

I always enjoyed watching Dutch race. I don't know this for a fact, but I always thought his car was down on horsepower compared to the other cars. If the track was heavy, I did not expect Dutch to do as well. If the track was a little dry,
then I expected him to win! The reason was that I thought he had better car control and a more delicate touch on the throttle. I was at SFS the night they threw the red flag and presented him with various awards for his years at the track. Why is it you feel like you know someone, when you have only seen them from the grandstands? I don't know, but it's true.

My prayers are with you and your family. What a ledgend Dutch was. Always friendly in the stands. A lot of my great childhood memories have him in it. The number 7 is so fitting for heaven. God Bless.
