"The rules, which had been challenged by industry groups and several states, will reduce emissions of six heat-trapping gases from large industrial facilities such as factories and power plants, as well as from automobile tailpipes." I didn't read the regulations, but I did read the article. Typically the EPA doesn't mess with "closed course" vehicles, I don't think. Calm down Chicken Little...

This administation was not in office when this law came into effect... geeeez

In 2007, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the EPA had authority to regulate greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane under the Clean Air Act if the agency declared them a public danger. The EPA issued an endangerment finding in December 2009, clearing the way for regulation of emissions from power plants, factories and other sources linked to global climate change.

Through the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, the carmakers supported a national program, saying they wanted to avoid conflicting standards from state and federal regulators.

wait, wasn't ethanol; supposed to save the day?

you mean they are going to tax the crap out of ethanol, the governments great new fuel?

the great new fuel that gets you 20% less gas mileage when 85% of a gallon of gas contains it, while the government is requiring more fuel mileage for cars?

the fuel that indycar and nascar are touting?

to indy and beyond!!

You could always vote for Romney and only the rich teams funded by the Nascar guys will survive and all the small teams will no longer exist.

The EPA is always trying to police things like this and nothing ever comes out if it. It is just another agency that exist just to hear themselves talk.

I'm not sure how not raising taxes and not investing billions of tax payer money into business that are bound to fail is going to hurt racing too much?

It's just another agency....Yes, that we the tax payer had to pay to create, pay to staff, pay to regulate, and pay to sustain - that does nothing? Sounds like a sham, and theres 100 other government agencies just like 'em. The only jobs this fool can create are government jobs, and we need less of those, not more. This president would make a great motivational speaker at a high school, after that age almost everyone has more real life work experience then him. Everyone wants to hate the corporations, but the government is the biggest of them all, and the only one were forced to pay for, whether we want it or not.

Yes I agree that no jobs have been created but anyone who thinks that any politican that gets into office is going to create jobs is dreaming. The person in office now can only create gov't jobs, but the opponent has a history of buying companies, loading them up with debt, and selling them piece by piece leaving hundreds unemployed. All any politican and Gov't angency is going to is make a whole bunch of noise and promises that they can't keep around election time and help the corporations that donated to there campagins. That is all the EPA is doing here, trying to make the American people think that they are working on helping the enviroment when they are not.

Remember, we the people are supposed to be in charge of this country and hold the leaders accountable but instead of doing that we choose to vote Left or Right, Democrat or Republican. We should hold all of them to a higher standard no matter what party they are.

Seriously, if Obama does get re-elected, he can't run for a third term, so there is no telling what he would do.

Liberals would LOVE to get rid of anything remotely hazardous and/or fuel consuming.

your drinking obuma kool aid........ bain capitol takes over company's that were already failing and presented to bain by the owners because all other options such as financing were used up and the owners of the company's want to salvage what they could for their years of hard work.......... wouldn't you do the same? .......... bain would take over management of these company's and take the necessary steps to return these entity's to profitability.......... did all the company's succeed ? no.......... did people lose jobs? yes you must sometimes trim the fat to stay profitable.......... Bain capitol had a 70% success rate in saving the company's they aquired and saved and created over 100,000 jobs that would have never been saved if outfits like bain didn't come to there rescue.............. president downgrade has not done anything but add more debt which is expected to reach 20 trillion by 2016 ............. he didn't inherit anything ....he bought it with a 700+ million dollar campaign

I guess that'll be okay if they shut down sprint car racing because of emissions, I won't have any health care with the other crew. I'll be dead with one bunch and the other wants to clean up the air. You forgot to mention they are going to take your guns too, I bet they'll taste good too when have to eat them and you don't have a job. Just keep listening to the news outlets so you know how to think, they'll tell you if your really not sure.

WOW, a well thought out response regarding Bain Capitol. On all of the boards that I view daily I have yet to see a response to anyone banging Romney over Bain as well put together as this one. Bravo Sir!

While we are on the subject, did anyone see the articles that were published in Circle Track about all of the research that has been going on in the field of Catalytic converters on Stock Cars? Some of the research is being conducted by scientists right here in my back yard, folks from Argonne National Laboratories. This has been a looming issue for some time and folks have been researching it for a couple of years now. Please, do not feel that our sport is in any way safe from the prying eyes of the government. Maybe they did not start these programs, but whoever has begun this process definitely saw the writing on the wall. I fail to believe that they would spend the money if they didn't feel that the EPA getting involved was not a possibility. Actually it started many years ago in Karting where the production of 2-cycles has fallen off of a cliff because of the EPA. This is not going to go away, so to deny that it is happening is only going to make you angrier when they actually step into the scene.

It's very obvious that some of you don't have a clue what the EPA doe's.http://www.epa.gov/aboutepa/ Why don't you do a little research so you might not sound so foolish in the future... I'm also a fan of OSHA; because I know without those standards for the type of work I've done throughout the years I either be dead or crippled.

mayby you should read up on the united nations agenda 21........ it all there and the epa is engaged in its enactment........ their goal is "global sustainability" and by rules and bullshit regulations. the goal is to herd everyone out of the rural areas and into cities and connect these areas with high speed rail and eliminate as many fossil fueled vehicles as possible with mass transit "to save the planet"......by making it so costly you wont be able to afford a car............they backed off it but several months ago the epa was going to try and regulate dust on farms........don't dirt race tracks generate dust?........ they are making it nearly impossible to start a business because of the cost of these bs regulations......... just this past sunday the ny times suggested the rationing air conditioning.........nearly 50%of the nations electricity comes from coal plants.......here in pa by 2014 5 coal fired power plants and up to 25% of these plants nationwide are going to close because of unobtainable, unreasonable regulations........wheres the electricity going to come from?.........obamy even said before he was elected you can build a coal plant but the cost of cap and trade will bankrupt you...and "utility rates will necessarily skyrocket"........its all on video on youtube..... his energy secretary said he would like to see gas prices equal to or more than europe.......i have a son in Germany right now and prices there are near $8 a gallon.......are you ready for that? .............agenda 21 google it and read up on it......its not some conspiracy .....alabama just recently passed a state law to prevent it being implemented in their state........
