LoneStar Spring Sprint Invasion – April 7th

Kilgore TX (3/16/12) by DarinShort.com. The only 2012 scheduled visit of The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Series takes on the 3/8 mile high banks of LoneStar Speedway with the running of the LoneStar Spring Sprint Invasion on Saturday April 7th. The Modifieds will also be racing for $1,000 to win; plus Limited Modifieds and Factory Stocks will round out the racing card.

Both Gary Wright and Michael Lang picked up ASCS victories at LoneStar Speedway in 2011. Fans can expect drivers such as Matt Covington (2011 series champion), Eric Baldaccini, Claud Estes III, Justin Melton, John Ricketts, Robert Byrom, Martin Edwards, Evan Pardo, Chad Wilson; plus a host of others, as very few sprint events are scheduled that night across the region.

A complete event flyer has been posted under the ‘resources’ section of the track website. Click www.LoneStarSpeedway.com to check it out.

The rules and complete payback for all three LoneStar Speedway points divisions are listed on the track website under ‘resources.’ (Modifieds, Limited Modifieds & Factory Stocks.)

Here are some quick facts for the event:

-Grandstands open at 5pm, Hot Laps at 7pm with Racing to follow.

-Pits open at 4pm.

-General Admission just $15 (ages 12 and older). Tickets available at the gate on race day only.

-Kids (ages 6-11) just $5

-Ages 5 and under admitted free with adult admission

-Military or Seniors (Ages 65+) General Admission $13

-Upgrade any ticket to the Reserved Section (bucket seats) for $5 per person

-No outside food/drink coolers are allowed inside, a full selection of economically priced food concessions, including beer, are available.

-Click www.LoneStarSpeedway.com for event flyer, class rules and complete event details.

-Click www.ASCSracing.com for all series news.

Don’t miss the only scheduled ASCS Sprint Car appearance of 2012 (until the October 11-13 LoneStar Sprint Nationals) on Saturday April 7th, at the “Fastest 3/8 Mile Dirt Track in Texas,” LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore Texas!

3/19/12 EVENT UPDATE:

Some people have been emailing me with questions requesting more details for this event, so here you go:

-It will pay $3,000 to win the 25 lap feature (instead of $2,000), and normally would start 20 cars; but we will be starting 24, paying $250/start.

-There is no added pit cost or entry fee for the drivers...pits are $30.

-Adult tickets are just $15.

-Complete event flyer located at:

http://www.lonestarspeedway.com/downloads/1003/fi1003_2736.jpg

Make your plans now for a great night of racing at LoneStar Speedway on Saturday, April 7th!

It also appears to be the only ASCS type rules sprint car race in the 4 state area, so it should be an excellent field of drivers.

Click www.LoneStarSpeedway.com for details...thanks!

This is great news. Our group has enjoyed the Comfort Suite the last two years in November for the special 3 night event. We will be there again this year in November. Do we have a guesstimate of number of sprint cars for this weekend. Notice there are 3 other classes. Potential for a long night??

If I had to guess, I think there should be 26-34 sprints; as there is literally no sprint races for 100's of miles, and we are starting 24 cars not the usual 20 in a regional event. And I don't think it will be a late night with the other three classes. They all did a great job last weekend and the show buzzed right along.

TONIGHT is your only chance to see the ASCS Sprint Car Division at LoneStar until the $120,000 LoneStar Sprint Nationals on Oct. 11-13!

The weather is looking 'fan'tastic for tonight's LoneStar Spring Sprint Invasion, with temperatures of 78 forecast at 7pm race time dropping to around 68 by the final checkered flag.

$3,000 to win and $250 for starting the feature (24th) tonight in The Oil Medics ASCS Sprint Cars, $1,000 to win Modifieds, $300 to win Factory Stocks and $500 to win Limited Modifieds.

Adult tickets just $15! Senior/Military (with ID) $13, Kids $5 and all pit passes $30.

Please click www.LoneStarSpeedway.com for event flyer point divisions payback and all other information.

Also note that one race team alone is bringing a couple hundred Easter eggs for the Easter egg hunt taking place tonight...so it should be a lot of fun for the youngsters too.

Have a fun, safe weekend and if your plans include LoneStar Speedway, it's sure to be a great time!
