Was looking at pics of the cars in FL on Hoseheads Live tonight. Is is just me, or are the wings sitting much closer above the cage than in years past? I don't know if they are all just adjusted that way on that evening, but some of them are so low in the front it almost looks like the leading edge would block the driver's vision.

Thanks slink. You should be a crew chief with those quick mechanical diagnostic skills. Hopefully no one on the team wants to joke around.

What I cought in the video was, the cars on that track, at those speeds, are lifting the LR off the ground unpredictably through the center of the corners, but the teams can't tighten the cars up anymore without having to lift of the throtle. Thats why the wing is like that. To put weight back on the LR and still be in control at high speeds through the corners. Some of the guys slide the wing forward down the straits then back to jacked up going into and off the corners.

The 87 looks like he has a broken mount, but here are a couple of examples. I guess its been awhile since I saw the WOO in person - 2009 here in TX - but they look to be mounted much closer to the top of the cage than I recall. I found a random mid-90s shot of Steve Kinser and I guess they're not that much lower, just adjusted low on this night.

So you're telling me the LR is coming off the ground while ON the gas thru the corner? How in the world can THAT happen. We've had it happen when off the gas and hard on the brakes. But never when ON the gas. It can wing over so hard it might yank the RR off the ground but I don't see how the LR ever would. Can you explain how that's happening? Thanks.

When they went to the flat wing they run it with a steeper angle to try and make up for what was lost with the dish wing. When the wing is forward it is pretty low.
