ASCS Engines - We do not know about illegal engines but we do know Huggins Cams has been in the winning engines at the 360 Nationals since 2000 - 2011 eight times - the last two with Shane Stewart with 23 races on the engine. The motor was not built in Iowa. So Get One Or Follow One. Not bragging - just facts!

I pretty much thought everybody in the sprint car industry used Huggins anymore. Didn't see the need for a thread like this actually lol. Go Huggins.

Huggins does make great cams, but knowing the entire engine combination, along with the driver's characteristics and preferences, along with having a good undestanding of the team's MAINTENANCE program dictates how to cam their engines.
That's why choosey engine builders choose COMP Cams. No one does more R&D, makes more reliable power, and gives better one on one service than COMP.
COMP = Choice Of Motorsports Professionals.

godaddy, out of curiosity how does a teams engine maintenance program dictate what cam an engine builder puts in an engine?
I have a pretty good understanding of what kind of maintenance an engine requires but I can't tie that and a cam selection together.

You know Kelly I was wondering that myself, I understand you need to know everything about the motor and what type racing you are doing and even what type chassis you are using, (some hook up better than others) and what type of driver you have for instance , a Swindell or a rookie driver, but if you do not maintain your engine well you are out of action no matter what cam you have. The biggest advantage of a Huggins you may see him at any race track throughout the country talking to the racers and listening to them.

I have used Huggins Cams since 2003 but I decided to try a Comp Cam last season. The Comp Cam is a nice cam and a quality product, but I am in the process of switching back to a Huggins. The Huggins has a great power band and drives real nice when the track slicks off.
It's all about what you like.
