Isn't there a new product that helps to make a sprint car easy to push around? If I'm not mistaken its a wheel that has a bearing installed in the center and takes the bind out of the rear end making it easier to push around at the shop, car wash or just wherever. I don't remember where I saw this product. Anyone out there know who makes it and what its called? Thanks for your help.

even cheaper and easier. get your hands a on 15 bolt rear center and mount it on a front direct mount wheel and put it on your rr. Take and grind the splines out of the center so it will free roll on the axle and it will take all your pushing problems away. the center doesnt even have to be straight just some old will work. I have mine mounted withh 2 bolts so i can easily take it apart if i need it on my front to run.

We put 2 left rears on the car in the back and the car is much easier to move. We have also mounted splined centers in front wheels and that works really well too. Never have tried taking the splines out of the centers though. Doesn't that wear the splines on the axle out after a while. Or at least take the anodizing off? Never tried so I don't really know. Anyway, if you reduce the stagger the car becomes really easy to manage.

i hhavnt noticed any wear on the axle. the centers are a softer material than the axle or atleast the one i am using seems to be. you will notice alittle metal shavings on the axle from the center but nothing a rag cant wipe and be good to go racing. by taking the splines out so one wheel can free spin it makes like a car axle with differentail and when it is time to push around a corner it moves so much easier. I push mine around alot easier by myself this way.

Make a bearing center wheel for the RR like you were asking about ,,taking the stagger out isn't even close to as easy at it'll roll on the bearing center wheel its 1 hand effort

Do not under any circumstances try this , it will damage the axle and this guy I'm sure will be the first one to get on hoseheads and make a post against winters or dmi about his axle breaking

How will it damage your axle. I have been doing it for several years now and never had a problem yet alone an axle break on me yet. a tire free spinning on a axle wont break one. the smoother the spline area the better you will be. also dont be accusing me off getting on here and complaining about stuff breaking. go rear all my post and you wont find one. go find some one else to pick on.

This may be true as well. I have never heard of a bearing center wheel, maybe I should look into one as well. Is that a product, or are you suggesting that one be made?

The wheel you are looking for is made by Todd's Performance in Pa. It has a bearing in the center & you can either buy the complete wheel or just the center with a bearing in it to mount in your wheel. ( any 15 bolt wheel will work ).They had a article on it in Flat Out about 2-3 months ago. They also have a add in the speed shop section of the Magazine. Give him a call or E-mail .

Thank you for the info. After my post I went out to the shop, took an old birdcage bearing and an old wheel center, made a sleeve that pressed in the wheel center (after boring it out) and pressed the bearing in the other end of the sleeve. I will test it out sometime this week. Should would on the same principle of the wheel you are talking about. Do you happen to know how much the product you are talking about sells for?
