BRIAN LEPPO JOINS KEEN MOTORSPORTS, LLC By Brad Vores for Brian Leppo Racing/Keen Motorsports 11/10/11 HARRISBURG, PA Jesse and Lorraine Keen, owners of Keen Motorsports, LLC have hired New Oxford’s Brian Leppo to pilot their No. 17 sprint car for the 2012 racing season. Joining Leppo on the Keen team for 2012 will be new crew chief Steve Suchy, who brings a long list of experience to the team having worked with several top sprint car teams and drivers during his career. Leppo has piloted a car owned by Floyd Swope for the past five seasons in Central PA but will become the full-time driver for the potent Keen sprint that has seen several different pilots in the seat over the past few seasons. “I’m thrilled to assemble the ultimate team that I’ve envisioned for a couple of years now,” Jesse Keen stated. “I’ve never really had the right driver/crew chief combination and now I feel I have the right driver with the right crew chief and I’m really looking forward to the new season. I think Brian has continued to develop and has proven himself. He’s a gentleman-he represents sponsors and owners very well and he’s a great time trialer and a great racer. I’d like to think that I’m giving him the next level in depth of equipment and with the ultimate experience of Steve Suchy, I think that the team I have will be a real good one.” Leppo is equally looking forward to the next chapter of his racing career. “I’m really looking forward to one of the best opportunities I’ve been faced with in racing,” Leppo said. “Jesse is a top shelf car owner and Steve is a top shelf crew chief. We are all really excited for next year and the chance to work together under the Keen Motorsports banner. It took some time to get everything worked out, but we are all on board for the long haul and are looking forward to a great first season together.” Peterbilt and Hunter Truck Sales will once again be the major sponsor on the Keen Motorsports No. 17 in 2012. This will be the fourth season that the company has been the primary sponsor. While a complete schedule will be released later, the team will compete weekly at Williams Grove Speedway in 2012 on Friday night and will compete in Saturday night time trial shows in Central PA along with both Speedweek series and various other special shows. “We’re gonna take a look at running for the Williams Grove championship next year but we are not committing to any track for a regular Saturday night stop at this point,” Keen added.

Was pretty much expecting this to happen from the moment Tyler was sent home. Keen lending his engines to the Swope team made this seem even more likely.
It's a shame Swope is retiring from ownership, though.

Leppo has paid his dues and is a good guy but lets try something different. Zemco might as well put Todd Shaffer in the 1 while were at it. Isn't there someone that hasn't had many chances already? That Logan guy comes to mind.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Good for him. Good car to get into. Brian can (and has) given the WoO fits.

Probably not likely, but you never know, maybe Keen can be convinced to switch the 17 to a 71, heh.

Young man knows where the gas pedal is and races smooth and clean from the 20 or so times I have seen him. I remember saying to an old friend I was sitting with at Lincoln one night, 'this kid will beat the Outlaws and soon'. Now he has a chance to beat them a few more times, hope he does.....

Good choice and he is a "HOME GROWN" talent to boot. I guess the Central Pa fans won't have to listen on how the Pa Car owners steal drivers from other parts of the country and adopt them as our own on this deal, however the Zemco's new driver might be a different story, although I think that will be a Pa driver as well when the dust settles.

I think this combination will be successful however I don't think you will see the car travel like it did with Walker in it.
Best of luck to Keen/Suchy/Leppo in 2012!

It probably won't, but I'm hoping we'll at least see them go to Volusia, Knoxville, and Charlotte next year.

Yeah i agree but keen doesn't want to travel anyway so it will work out good! I gotta say though i was shocked to see suchy as head wrench? the guy knows his stuff and is a hell of a crew chief but i though Darrah still had him on payroll?

Maybe kirk could go work for the 75 Bower car she needs a good crew chief to give her a drivable car!

Really? ????????? I like Nicole but they spend way too much money to be that bad most weeks so you have to ask yourself why that is? Drivers have to earn their money why shouldn't the crew chief too?
