All,

I am working with a dirt track in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to set-up a Vintage Only track day event. It will be on a Sunday and the goal is to get enough cars together to allow them to "race" by class. The date we are working towards would be in late September 2012. Here are the classes I am thinking about:

Midget

Supermodified

Sprint/Champ

Coupe/Modified (flathead/6 cyl) - OVSCRA type

Coupe/Modified (V8) - OVRA type

We would have the track to ourselves. I was thinking hot laps, heats and features. The number of restored cars are growing but many are for display only. I would like to know how many cars will be around in September 2012 that would be willing to make it to DFW for a Sunday of fun in the Fall.

Thanks,

Dan Carlsen

Dan: sounds like a neat event!! Count the Red Racer and myself in, unless one of these Quakenados we're having in Oklahoma doesn't get me first!! LOL

One car for sure here, but I dream of bringing two.

Having met you guys down there has told me this is going to be a good show, without a bad sunburn!

The Wichita Falls guys don't get on a computer much, but I'd bet at least 5 cars would be interested in coming down.

I'll bet Bill Cundiff (no computer) from Lindsey, Ok- would like to be there too. He was really pumped after Ardmore, and his health is on the mend.

I will be there unless business interfears with my plans. If everything goes as planned I will bring two cars.

I wonder if we need to seriously look into renting a car hauler that could pull 5-8 cars? If several were to meet up at one location, and load up- it would take a lot of the anxiety of dealing with traffic issues and leave it to a professional who handles it everyday.

Just a thought.
