Awesome. Between racinboys and the online posts, it's almost as good - if not better than - being physically present.
Thanks.

The track was tacky and awesome fast all night - thus (and I hate to admit this) not much passing through the night. I was amazed that there was as much passing in the A as there was. Many drivers ran out of tear-offs in their heats as well as in the A - and pulled in or "winged it". It was a perfect non-wing track. Wayne Johnson did a great job of getting to the front. Sam Hafertepe, Jr. lost it by getting too high into the "cushion" several times, otherwise I don't think anyone could have caught him. The track was so fast that Larry Howery's wing collapsed - and he went for one helluva ride. Thank goodness the J&J frame held up and he only had a sore knee. At least that was tonight. Jason Johnson & Johnny Herrera had to take provisionals. Let's hope the rain (if any) holds off until after the races are over Sat. We need the rain - but it can wait a few hours.... hopefully.

The track was as fast as it could possibly be last night, and unfortunately that's too fast. Wayne Johnson won because he was the only one in the top five that didn't bicycle his car and wind up running off of the track. At least it did make for some passing though, although none of it was from side by side racing. The heat races were as boring as it gets. Can you say freight train? I disagree that it would have been a perfect non-wing track. Non-wingers probably would have had far more cars upside down as much grip as that track had.
Personally I'm hoping for a more slick track tonight and I think the racing will be much better. I was hoping night 1 of the Winternationals would be like night 1 of the Spring Nationals with the duel between Swindell and Johnson. Unfortunately the track just didn't quite dry out enough to produce that.
I don't see very many crashes that scare me, but the Lowery crash did. I was surprised to see him clear the fence that is so far off of the track. Glad he's OK though.

Dustin Morgan had an accident in hot laps and destroyed his car. Thankfully he is ok. Knees are sore understandably but the car is junk. Took some pics of the car if you want to check it out and see how how fortunate he is to walk away from it. The car wouldn't turn coming out of 4 and went head on into the wall
