If you'd like to check out a couple of video clips from last night's LoneStar Sprint Nationals finale, please visit the Fan Zone page at: www.darinshort.com/SCNpics.html then scroll down the page to the '10/16' update. (And the link to complete results is located at the top of this same page.)

On the behalf of Sam and Lisa Hafertepe - and the staff of LoneStar Speedway, I would like to thank all of the race teams and fans that converged upon the speedway for the weekend. After an unforecast deluge on Wednesday, it made for a rocky start on Thursday; but Friday and Saturday that softness from the excess rain baked out of the track and made for excellent racing conditions.

FanFest was also a huge success - over 300 attended!

We hope to see you next year!

Why does the video of the race show (literally) no one in the stands? All the seats in front of the camera are empty, as are the small bleachers on the back stretch. There is one person whose knees show in one view.

At times it can appear that way because the stands are so big. It seats around 10,000 and the top 1/2 was mostly full.

dman - I think what some are wondering is - was the race enough of a success to keep it on the schedule for next year? Rumors are running around that there was some sort of ASCS issue regarding payment of $ for the ASCS regulars (tow $ I've heard). I think most don't really care about that issue as much as whether we'll see a 2nd annual Lone Star Nationals. Big $ races are nice for fans and racers alike.

We fully plan on there being a 2nd LoneStar Sprint Nationals and our attendance was just above our estimated goal...so all is well, and we will reveal next years details most liky during the off season so fans have more time to plan.

If the 2nd one is an ASCS race, will there actually be some ASCS officials there?

There was an ASCS official there, just as advertised. National director Matt Ward was there teching cars all weekend long.
