From the day he won in Minnesota. Audrey Meyer is the Trophy Girl. Rosemary Clooney (George Clooney's aunt) did a concert right after in front of the grandstand.

BKRC,
I remember having three of these magazines, this one with Harold Leep, as well as one
that featured Jackie Howerton, and one the featured Shady McWhorter. Did they
print any others after that?

From what I have heard there were just 3 issues made. They must have been printed on good paper because I stuck them I them in a plastic container, moved three times stored them in the attic and they were in pretty good shape. the old Speed Sports were on newsprint and aged very quickly. I have the one where Jan Opperman won opening night in Tulsa in 1978 and every-time I touch it it comes apart some more.

Shane Carson told me he had ALL THREE magazines. Bud Carson helped get the magazine started, but the money ran out by the third issue.
