Due to the absolutely unbeatable heatwave we are having, the decision has been made to cancel our programs scheduled for August 12th and August 19th. We will return on August 26th for our Tinker Fan Night. We hope that it will be much cooler by then! For details about Tinker Fan night check out www.brillmotorspeedway.com or checl us out on Facebook. And don't forget you can now get advance text and e-mail notifications from BMS. Look for information sheets on the website, on Facebook, and at the track. Fill out the info sheet and suit it (online) or turn it in at the concession stand. Then just sit back and wait to be notified when something is happening. Got my 1st text message from the system today, so I know it is up and working. And before I forget, THANKS to everyone for your help and continued support of BMS!! We appreciate all of you!!!

+1 on the text and email notification. It works great and is a really great service. Fans, racers and crews should sign up for this.

And for all those casual fans who don't get into websites or texts or whatever?

96% of the US population own or have access to cell phones so the text notification feature should reach a surprising number of fans. For a cell phone owner that doesn't like all the buttons and technology, they could still sign up and push one button to read a text from BMS. For the fan that doesn't own or intend to get a cell phone or the internet, there is more than likely a family member or friend with one or both of those that could recieve messages on the notification system. In other words, ya do the best ya can with what ya got.

But of the 96% that have cell phones. How many have a text plan or internet plan? I bet it drops off? I don't.

Thats not the point David was making. I think he meant, what about the people that dont know about this or other race sites. The CASUAL fan. These are the ones we need to attract.

I don't think the "idea" was to draw more fans, but to be able to give drivers, and fans a way to know, in advance, whether the track was open, closed, or if a special event was taking place. There had been complaints in the past from folks who drive all the way to the track, only to discover it was closed. More of an "advance warning system" than an advertising tool.

agreed, didn't see it as a marketing aide. Went to a track that uses the same set up for track give aways, ie trivia games and such.
