Had he been more on National basis , and rode with the Outlaws, or USAC more often, many of you would have been fans, and yes the man would have won races with anybody. The Standard example for what a Racing Legend should be, in my opinion, is this guy right here.
Mr Bob Ewell

I was fortunate in that I grew up in the NCRA area. Bob Ewell was as good as anyone. He was always a threat to win in any type of car. I would liken him to Gary Wright for those not familiar with him.

Even without the "glory" of the WoO or USAC, I always was a "Bullet" Bob Ewell fan.

I would like to note that the Tampa USAC footage was work done by Greg Stephens, and the OkC, and Tulsa footage was from the hands of OkC's own - Dean Martin. Pictures came from JD Porter, and so many other people.
Putting these clips together makes me so thankful someone took the time to get a glimpse of an irreplaceable moment in time, and save it all those years.
And how I wish I had that 1n Champ Dirt Car he ran at OkC and Tulsa in 1986! Love that car!
But then I'd settle for the black #18 super even more.
