Nice shots thank you for sharing. I was out that way for business last week and got a chance to visit the track on Wednesday, looks like a racey little joint. Unforunately for me, I concluded my business on Thursday and couldn't stay to see the races on Saturday, I was disappointed because it looked like the perfect sized track for the ARDC midgets which I follow in the eastern part of Pa.

It's a good track for the midgets. Gets dusty during features especially with winged sprints.

Why is it you feel the need to always take a shot at Mercer with your comments? Maybe because your home track is Sharon the rival track running against Mercer on Saturday nights.Yet you show up with your hand out looking for free admission constantly at Mercer so you can sell your photos. It's a dirt track. Sometimes they get a bit dusty. The drivers never complain about the job Frank Benic does with the track. For that matter you are the only photographer to complain about the conditions.

Mike, You are certainly the pot calling the kettle black with your constant negative criticism of Sharon. (3799 >> Mike Dutko is the announcer at Mercer)
BTW: Sharon IS NOT my home track by any means. (I was Sharon's track photographer in '05 and '06) I have been there once this year and that was for the Lou Blaney Memorial. And it was pretty darn dusty there too! I didn't have my camera that night or you would be able to see it (the dust) in the photos.
I said Mercer was "dusty" during the features, and it was. You can ignore that fact if you choose to do so! Apparently you are not talking to the other photographers! Actually, most dirt tracks this year have been dustier than in previous years and I expect it may have to do with mid-week prep. Maybe not!
With regard to having my hand out so I can sell my pictures, you don't even have a clue! I submit images to the media outlets I represent to promote racing (including Mercer) wherever I go. Check out National Speed Sport News for the Mercer-ADRC submissions. NSSN>>LINK
Then I post a gallery complete with pit side images so fans may want to come and enjoy what each track may have to offer.
THIS PR COSTS THE TRACK ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
I ALWAYS DO my job as a media representative and am not there to "make money" as you might suggest. You should take a better look at the Mercer credential list!
On a regular basis, I DO NOT sell enough images to pay for my gas to and from the track. I am not talking about the $.58 per mile the IRS says it actually costs to drive - just the gas cost. I DO NOT walk through the pits at any track selling my work as I have total respect for the track photographer's home base. You cannot purchase images directly from my photo gallery web site.
I have a passion for both motorsports and photography and being able to combining those is a plus for sure. I post my work to promote the tracks, sanctioning bodies, drivers and sponsors involved with the sport.
As always, you continue to "promote" Mercer Raceway Park by bashing anything you feel has a conflict with your own personal agenda. You do more harm to Mercer with this constant bashing than you do any good. You see me when I am at the track, why don't you just walk/drive up and express your opinion?
If Mr. Altman would prefer that I NOT shoot at his track, that is fine with me. PLEASE have him contact me (e-mail is OK) with his preference.

Let me quote your website: SHARON SPEEDWAY: Sharon Speedway is our home track. |
|
You submitted your photos to NSSN. What a joke! How many months has it been since they published a paper?
You don't sell you pictures from your gallery? Why does the gallery say - For additonal information about our photography and the custom graphics available, simply link over to our website.
With regard to Mercer's dusty track, even your Photoshopped collection shows no dust during the sprint feature.
My personal agenda is to speak out when people like you want to bash the track. If you have a problem with that speak to Mr. Altman personally. He does not do email.

On the JMS ProPhoto Home page, it states: "Sharon Speedway, our “home” track has announced an excitement-filled schedule for 2006." JMS ProPhoto>>>LINK The home page has not been updated since 2006 - simple reading comprehension would allow that understanding.
National Speed Sport News and Chris Econmaki are a joke? Yes, everyone is aware they ceased print publication but the web based edition is still "up to the minute" with NASCAR, NHRA, F1, Indy Car, Rolex, Grand-AM, ARCA and even grassroots pavement and dirt racing. They still have a larger reading audience than most other web based racing sites. Images were also submitted to print publications but they are not quite as "instant" as web sites.
I wrote, "You cannot purchase images directly from my photo gallery web site, " and this is true. It is necessary to email me with any questions or interest in using my images. I do not use a web based photo gallery where sales are the mainn intent and "impulse buyers" can order and pay for images directly (which is what I state). I am more interested in the event presentation than selling the images.
Yes, I use Photoshop. Any photographer interested in providing the best images possible uses some form of editing software. Do you have a personal bias against Photoshop? However, even the editing cannot completely hide dusty conditions. Would you please point me toward the other photographers who took the time to edit images of the checkered flags from this night's features?
I have not been able to find any! Any idea what that indicates?
Since you have taken it upon yourself to be the spokesperson for Mercer Raceway Park, perhaps you should take up these issues with Mr.Altman or Mr. McCandless.
Once again, you continue to embarrass the Mercer faclilty!

Mike Dutko, you are a complete fool.jmo, have watched you operate for a long time and you never change. I know that you are a true dirt racing fan,i suppose that is your positive but your years of negative comments about anything or anyone that doesnt suit you just sometimes goes over the top. i consider you, well actually i dont consider you. maybe honesty and humility escape you. Dusty was an understatement at the All-Star show as i sat in turn 4 and lost vision of the racing action after the flag stand and could not see the cars again untill they came out of turn 2. A positive and prohibitive action might be for you to just retire, become a fan and allow racings PROFESSIONALS to continue promoting all the great things that make are sport fan, family, and competitor friendly and that includes positive comments about all raceways and competiters. Spoken and or iterated statements need to be good for every one and not include some of your vile, vicious and back stabbing commentary that you hide from the public.
